In my commentary, I spelled conservative with a lower case c. That and the fact that I'm replying to your general statement suggest that I'm making a general statement about ideologies, not UK parties specifically. 3. You reply saying that it doesn't mean what I think it does. 4. I concede that Orwell was speaking about UK parties, as indicated by his use of capitalization, but that it is still generally relevant, i.e. for the namesake ideologies of those parties in general. 5. You accuse me of thinking it's only about the UK, which is contradicted by every comment I've made. Once again, you're a fount of wisdom.

This is corporate antiracism, which has its own problems, namely that it makes racism an individual failing rather than a systemic problem (thanks, capitalism). But that is little different than any study of antiracism in the last several decades and not a major part of any curriculum.

Don't tell me there's a moral difference between hating a hypocrite and hating someone who is hateful, but then it would follow that there is a much larger difference between hating people on the basis of an immutable characteristic and hating someone who hates people because of an immutable characteristic. And with that being said, how do you even distinguish between someone who "hates people who hate" and someone simply attempting to discuss systems of oppression? I suspect that you are conflating discussion and political confrontation of systems of oppression with hate of individuals. Capitalism has indoctrinated you to think this way.

@sqeptiq I should be thankful that the far right uses CRT, a term that has its own definition, as a dog whistle for the white genocide and cultural Marxism conspiracy theories? No, actually it would simplify things if they didn't misuse terms and instead chose to be blatantly racist. The terms don't change the reality.

Imagine if we got so upset at the racism that IS taught as we are at a legal theory that isn't taught--not because it is controversial, but because it's too advanced for schoolchildren. As always, there are legitimate criticisms of corporate HR antiracism of the "White Fragility" type, that individualizes rather than systemitizes (the latter would implicate executives, trustees, political leaders, and institutions), but that is neither CRT nor the history that is being taught in schools. The right has engineered this moral panic (which is similar to many of their past racist moral panics) because anti-black racism is the biggest electoral motivator of Republicans, who fear their property values going down, and because having a Black underclass is in the interest of private business interests.

@stevie-f What exactly is the policy planning network of private capital doing with its anti-"CRT" propaganda other than its own "long march through the institutions?" The coalition of Koch, Uihlein, Thiel, et al. objectively exists. As does the establishment (there would be no need for a long march if they didn't already have hegemony over the institutions). But where are the Marxists? The establishment, e.g. Gates, is much closer to the private capital than it is the left. Same as it ever was, as our economy becomes more asset-centric and privatized on the road to neofeudalism.
