I don't see you speaking up about Casey here, by the way. As for the left, you and I disagree on whether affirmative action is racism. And we have not established the definition of identity politics. Did the civil rights movement count? Or is it just the type of class-blind, race reductionist politics that neoliberal centrists use opportunistically? Because the left is quite loud in challenging the latter. It's just not black and white, so to speak. Perhaps it you should open your ears.

It's more the other way around. Low taxation has allowed these non-workers who are actively giving money away (but at a lower share per dollar than average) to concentrate wealth that otherwise would be spent on public goods, salaries, and new businesses.

@DonProvolone I don't believe one word coming out of his mouth. He got the attention of the left with the launch of his campaign by talking about democracy reforms like court packing. But he has since gone back on that. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/democrats-feel-whiplash-as-buttigieg-veers-from-left-lane-to-the-middle Some reasons he's not popular with the left (you might gain a new appreciation for him): 1. He said "all lives matter," https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/03/pete-buttigieg-on-police-controversy-said-all-lives-matter-in-2015.html equated the "I can't breathe" and "breathe easy" campaigns, https://theintercept.com/2019/12/19/pete-buttigieg-south-bend-i-cant-breathe-shirts/ called Chick-fil-A boycotters "virtue signalers," https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/27/politics/pete-buttigieg-opposes-boycotts-chickfila/index.html and called progressive activists "social justice warriors." https://www.currentaffairs.org/2019/03/all-about-pete 2. He gave a speech to a tea party group when he ran for state treasurer and validated their "real concerns about the direction of our government" (under Obama). See video at bottom. 3. He said that he's open to sending troops to Mexico https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article237463004.html 4. His campaign used stock photos of Kenyans and falsely claimed endorsements to market his plan for black America https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2019/11/18/pete-buttigieg-campaign-stock-photo-kenya/4229836002/ 5. He ran his mayoral campaign on behalf of a racist white coup at South Bend PD https://tyt.com/stories/4vZLCHuQrYE4uKagy0oyMA/22kkCiHxZkbeKfsQZwkvIm 6. He didn't listen to the black community during his gentrification initiative https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/henrygomez/mayor-pete-buttigieg-south-bend-gentrification 7. He posed for an Instagram at a Holocaust memorial https://theoutline.com/post/8272/pete-buttigieg-holocaust-memorial 8. Mark Zuckerberg is staffing his campaign https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-10-21/zuckerberg-offered-advice-in-hiring-to-buttigieg-in-rare-move 9.
