Intelligence is calmly realizing that your chances of survival are very good, even if your chances of infection are nearly 100%, and that you will probably be just fine, and you will not be alone in the process of recovery. What I still don't see is any effort to discover the true number of infections. The Spanish Flu failed to account for African American infections AND asymptomatic infections, leaving us with doubtful mortality rates. The Reuters chart makes no attempt to estimate that error, which is not surprising. More people will tune in if the news is worse. I suggest disregarding news outlets and looking directly at source websites such as WHO, NIH, etc.

It is a mistake to assume there is any Earthly way to stop crazy people from killing unarmed people in a free society. Even in tyrannical societies, the crazies didn't care if they got killed. They still killed other people. So canceling the rights of law abiding citizens to address the phenomenon is not only wrong. It is ineffective. The same is true of "affirmative action" and every other extra-Constitutional measure. They discriminate against the majority and create chaos in society. Better that society address some things as best it can and accept that humanity itself can not be controlled, even by tyranny, and that in a free society, it will never be very orderly. “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety. Every study on group ethics shows that accountability utterly disappears in any group of human beings over a few thousand souls. What reasonable person believes it will improve in a global government??? Our own country is now far larger than envisioned by our founders, and accountability is nearly absent. In their incredibly insightful vision, our founders wrote into the Constitution that the States were supposed to be the center of power in the United States - hence the name. Extra-Constitutional measures like these are not only unconstitutional, they discriminate against the majority - exactly why the Constitution was written, to prevent our rights from being taken. Liberals have convinced themselves the law should even the playing field. That is philosophically impossible without compromising the rights of the majority. Changing the law is wrong. Working toward fairness in society is the correct way to change that uneven playing field, and given human nature, it is never done. Changing the law will never change that.

Yeah, there are a few interesting coincidences that need to be looked into eventually. In February, a physician in Wuhan passed away of the virus and apparently smuggled a letter out stating that the virus had escaped a military virology lab there. An article a few days before that was critical of the lack of oversight of a Canadian lab studying a virus that was taken from a corpse in Europe. Seems a number of Chinese nationals had been working there and had left the lab en masse. The problem with all of this is that it fits the model of Soviet disinformation campaigns very well, so without digging into the details, it will be impossible to connect the dots. And what is not evident at the moment is why such a campaign might be set into action. In time, it may be evident which players seem unaffected by the hysteria. If it were Russia, I might find that a bit convenient.
