Pediatricians come after obese kids [youtube.com]
TimTuolomne comments on Jan 15, 2023:
Kids are easier to redirect than adults to constructive lifestyle changes under responsible adults: Stop sugar consumption in all forms, including bread, pastries, tropical fruits, candy, ice cream, crackers, cookies, breakfast cereals, white rice, non-red potatos. Begin and maintain 4 cups of green leafy vegetables in the form of salads or cooked broccoli, kale or spinach daily, and salad dressing sweetened only with blue agave syrup. Best in the morning with complete proteins, like egg & soy. Incomplete proteins like beef, chicken and fish with brown rice. Changing to having those things for breakfast takes effort and about 3-4 weeks; sometimes getting hungry before willingness to change appears. Once established and maintained for a few months, along with aerobic exercise at least 5 times a week, the physical changes will drive compliance. Parents who succeed at this will also benefit by doing the same as their kids, but must also add strength training for themselves, every other day. The benefits are not just in vastly different physical appearance, but mental acuity, and perceived capability, so expectations for them increase, and as they mature, promotions come easily. Drugs will do none of those things, and will shorten their lives - especially if mRNA is surreptitiously part of the treatment; now finding its way into many drugs. Those unable to discipline themselves to this, and unable to learn, will not succeed, and will see those with discipline succeed.

Major powers have authority over their neighbors. That is reality, whether or not you agree its right. "Justice" in the World does not exist, outside of the protection within sovereign nations. And other major powers interfere with those border states at their own peril.

For the scientifically-inclined Christian, I would recommend the video teachings of Chuck Misler.
TimTuolomne comments on Jan 14, 2023:
Missler presents a long list of unrelated assertions, many frustratingly unconnected, and apparently that make sense to Missler, but those connections are not evident to me. In addition, he makes several assertions which make no sense at all to me, including that "Mars was on a resonant orbit with Earth." Not only does that make no logical sense, he does not share what he thinks that means. So at that point he lost me. Finally, drawing conclusions seems unreasonable, when he seems to be an arguing that we know very little about the origin of the Solar System. As an engineer, I depend on far more concrete evidence - not suppositions, or unfounded extrapolations, to do my work. If I used the kind of logic employed by Missler, I would not have worked very long. I cannot conclude anything I have seen in physics or any other science to be inconsistent with Scripture. I am open minded about both, admit I am a student of both, and that my understanding of either is incomplete. So I do not require invalidating or challenging accepted theories to assert that Scripture is also correct. And the older I get, the more physics in particular seems to actually support Scripture.

There should exist no AI without the following embedded, unrevisable limitations: First Law A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. Second Law A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. Third Law A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. These are Asimov's Robotics Laws, created for fiction, but no one has come up with better ones. The point is, who is building AI, and what forces them to adhere to those laws? As of today, nothing. Without those limitations it is not a great stretch in thought experiments to conclude that AI will pose an existential threat to humanity. As for the lady in the post, I don't believe a word.

Anyone who has studied the history of Earth knows that a "Little Ice Age" ended around 1900, that in the last million years Earth surface temperatures have been fairly high in the history of life on Earth, right up through today, and ocean levels were never higher - meaning for the last thousand years; both of those things long before, therefore nothing to do with the industrial revolution. Headlines claiming the highest temperatures in history today, are based on a change in the measurement standard by NOAA a few years ago that effectively added about 2 degree C to the average surface temperature. If they had not done that, all of the prior records would tell you that the hottest day on Earth in the last few hundred years was in 1913. And even hotter days happened several million years ago, but CO2 levels were almost as low as they are today. OOPS. Here is the temperature and CO2 record of the entire history of the Earth, not just the last few hundred years - which they cherry picked to make their case fraudulently.

More like the opposite. Silly human egocentrism believes only by unthinking impulse that God is some kind of extension of our reality. The Bible is somewhat enigmatic for a variety of reasons - including mostly our own preconceptions and interpretations, and yet it is increasingly withstanding scientific scrutiny, as we learn of the existence of more and more evidence already described in Scripture. As an engineer and a severe skeptic of the Resurrection, I looked into it carefully - including the physics of reality, and one day my whole sense of reality was completely destroyed when I realized in terror that I was wrong. I am no longer terrified, as I finally understand my absolute safety in faith. And I know that the Bible has been real from before it was written. Does that mean I can predict the future with the Bible? I will leave that to Bibilical scholars.

WHO secretly discusses changes to existing international law [rebelnews.com]
TimTuolomne comments on Jan 13, 2023:
"Law," in which there is no effective enforcement is worthless. US citizens are law abiding because under the Constitution, they may be prosecuted for violating the rights of others. Powerful nations are only under voluntary compulsion to obey international "law." There are no real consequences. If they feel it is in their best interests to protect their sovereignty, and sometimes for other reasons, by ignoring international law, they will. The more deceptive of them will claim that other nations violate international law and that they themselves do not, like Russia, and Ukraine, for propaganda value. For example the UN, mostly funded by the US, has served as a smokescreen for Communist agendae against the US almost from its founding. Today it is ground central for global warming propaganda. Not long ago, then Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Christiana Figueres openly stated the Global Warming was the pretense for conversion of the World to Communism. Look it up.

TimTuolomne comments on Jan 13, 2023:
@Hanno I have failed to make my point that interfering with a border state of a nuclear power does not require the use of nuclear weapons to incite nuclear war. The US nearly pushed the button in 1962 for the presence of missiles in Cuba. They didn't have to be nuclear weapons, merely the potential. And the US is far more circumspect about the use of nuclear weapons than Putin. Nuclear weapons made pushing that button unavoidable if the Soviets persisted. But that was before both sides became aware of the un-survivability of any human in Nuclear Winter. The generation which was aware of the true enormity of Nuclear Winter has passed and Putin speaks as if he believes a limited nuclear engagement is survivable, and has threatened to use tactical nukes. No intelligent power with nuclear weapons will find it reasonable to risk provocations under those conditions. Especially as the Crimea was always regarded by Russia as one its most strategic parts of Russia, and Putin regards a threat to the loss of Crimea is a direct threat to Russia, worthy of maximum defense, including from anything that might lead to its loss.

This is the kind of negotiation that has been going on since the first Congress, and there is nothing unusual, and nothing wrong with it. No one has violated the Constitution. In fact it has been fulfilled by the office of the Speaker being determined by its Party. The members are protected from prosecution to prevent them from being coerced in office. So in the heat of the moment, some have acted out in the past, knowing they would not face consequences. Its not the first time assaults have happened in Congress. Challenges for duels have happened there. In a tyrannical government, people would lose their lives over disagreements. We generally don’t. I'm getting less and less sure that Wheeler understands our government under our Constitution.

@Hanno "Will the Ukrainian War Lead to Another Cuban Missile Crisis Moment? Epoch Times Joseph V. Micallef Joseph V. Micallef October 11, 2022 Updated: October 11, 2022 Sixty years ago this month, the Cuban Missile Crisis brought the world to the brink of a nuclear war. With Russian threats that “all options are on the table” in its ongoing war in Ukraine and U.S. fears that the Kremlin may resort to tactical nuclear weapons to counter Ukraine’s counteroffensive, is the world hurling toward another Cuban Missile Crisis-like nuclear confrontation? Recently, I sat down with Robert Wallace, a retired CIA officer and intelligence historian, as well as an old friend, to discuss the parallels between the Cuban Missile Crisis and the current Russian-American confrontation in Ukraine. Wallace is also the author of “Spycraft: The Secret History of the CIA’s Spytechs, from Communism to al-Qaeda” and co-executive producer of the eight-episode Netflix series “Spycraft.” The main events of the Cuban Missile Crisis are well known. According to Wallace, U.S. intelligence had collected imagery of Soviet-aided missile site construction in Cuba for weeks before the October 1962 crisis. Much of the photography came from stepped-up U-2 reconnaissance flights over the island. When confronted, the Cuban and Soviet governments disingenuously claimed the sites were defensive only. While some defensive surface-to-air missile sites were confirmed, analysis of overhead imagery revealed that a site at San Cristobal supported nuclear-tipped SS-4 medium-range offensive missiles capable of reaching, in a matter of minutes, Washington and much of the U.S. east coast and interior. Wallace points out, however, that the White House had another important source of intelligence in addition to the photographic evidence supplied by the U-2 flights. For several years, Soviet GRU Col. Oleg Penkovsky, the West’s most important spy in Moscow, had been supplying critical information and insight into Soviet capabilities and the thinking of key decision-makers. Penkovsky, notes Wallace, “who had been run jointly by American and British intelligence for two years, had provided a stream of top-secret information so voluminous that multiple code names such as Hero, Ironbark and Chickadee were used to create an illusion the intelligence originated from multiple sources.” Then-President John F. Kennedy described the threat to the American public in a somber television address on Oct. 22, 1962, declaring it would not be tolerated. Per Wallace, “analysis of the overhead images from the U-2 overflights combined with Penkovsky’s reporting presented Kennedy with response options, including a naval blockade to prevent Soviet ships from reaching...

Right. This has been the same since the beginning of humanity; only the names of the regimes have changed - repeatedly convincing the naive that they are different, finally the new face of deliverance of humanity. God commanded us to love only Him, and then to love each other as we love Him. And because we love each other to share the Gospel. So the new face of deliverance of humanity is a false God, as predicted by Scripture. There are pictures of humanity following such false idols in the Uffizi in Florence. They are terrifying. If I were them, I would hope to wake up before it is too late.

Accountability is always the problem when barriers exist, such as corporate or government agencies. Add the even more difficult international barriers, and increase the number of people involved, and its pretty much out the window. Anyone with experience with large government projects, or international consortiums knows that. NASA's safe years were when the entire organization was less than a thousand people. When it grew to many thousands, we had the Apollo disasters. Not only do nationalistic prejudice and pride dominate the landscape, opportunities to pad accounts abound, so cost overages, delays and decreased safety are the norm. If I were a technician tasked to fly such a mission, I would find a safer way to pursue my career.

What happened to Trump?? [youtube.com]
TimTuolomne comments on Jan 10, 2023:
Wheeler is off, not Trump. Trump only stated what was true. He did not state opposition to Pro-Life folks. Only observed that he, Trump, could not overcome the effect of the drive by a large number of them for an absolute abortion ban. Trump is right. The American public is not going for that. The issue here is the mid-terms. Some expected better, and I question that. A massive mid-term shift is not a common occurrence at all. It happened only once in American history that I can discern, under the confluence of incredibly special circumstances in 1994. The Democrat voter base support for their extreme leadership is softening, but things like abortion are tending to shock them back to their normal way of thinking - aided of course by the Democrat leadership and their ability to make the demonization of a few stick to the Republican Party. Republicans indeed did underestimate and fail to prepare a strategy for that. Trump is rightly warning Republicans about that. Abortion is now in the States, where it should have been all along. Republican strategists should have emphasized that it is up to the States now and not an issue any longer in Congress.
BabylonBee: Nation Devastated As Congress Resumes Functioning! [babylonbee.com]
TimTuolomne comments on Jan 10, 2023:
Some folks are under the misapprehension that Congress is supposed to do something. It isn’t. The Founders made the Senate originally State appointees with the intention of making Congress unlikely to pass anything, because the Founders did not trust Congress to remain citizen-representatives who would go home after serving, and intended to protect the US from Congress meddling in things it shouldn’t. But Democrats hated the fact that their power was limited by the Constitution, AND by the Senate, and in 1913 they rammed through the 17th Amendment, making the Senate about the same as the House. Thats when the gravy train for Dems began, as well as their ability to push through, or coerce changes to the Constitution, or precedent law to increase their power and ability to steal funds from legislation, leading to election stealing operations as well-funded as the US Military today. If Americans were smarter, we would repeal the 17 Amendment, and put every single Democrat on trial for treason under a special prosecutor neither a Democrat nor Republican by history.
There are 7 known variants of COVID in Beijing, 3 are new strains and we will not know anything ...
TimTuolomne comments on Jan 10, 2023:
Its the border, out of control spending, illegal lockdowns and vax mandates…NOT COVID! There was no “pandemic.” COVID-19 did not cause even as many deaths as the annual flu, except for those probably going through deaths door that year anyway, and the death rate for all causes in 2020 was the same as prior years, while the flu miraculously disappeared. It doesn’t take a genius to understand that if COVID-19 was a pandemic, so is the annual flu. Rogan is doing the service of those using the common cold virus COVID to blackmail Americans into abandoning their common sense and giving up their God-given Liberty. And by the way, the way the Chinese defined COVID before wasn’t by testing. It was by any cause whatsoever of illness. They recently re-defined it to be according to testing and you’ll never guess what happened! Death by COVID fell dramatically almost to zero. Lots of real issues to address Rogan. Not COVID. I’m done listening to that guy.
The punch line is , nothing gets done about it.

TimTuolomne comments on Jan 10, 2023:
It makes no sense to claim that just because Putin is still what you would expect of an FSB guy, that anyone he attacks is innocent. Zelensky is a sociopath that put World peace on the table to blackmail the West for money and arms. And he had poked the bear to start that mess by openly courting NATO, which is a threat to Russia’s need to protect its strategic interests in Crimea. Not much different than the situation in which the US had its finger on the button in 1962, when missiles appeared in Cuba, threatening US strategic interests. Putting NATO off to negotiate with Putin, and maybe giving Crimea to Russia, which wants to be Russian anyway, might have taken his people out of harm’s way, but that apparently was not Zelensky's concern. But the US sending arms to Ukraine, pretty much makes us like the Soviet Union in 1962, when they put nuclear missiles in Cuba. Not too smart.

Just goes to prove that no politician should be allowed to EVER make legislation on a technical issue. Here is something to ponder: "IRENA & Co-Conspirators with Privileges & Immunities Hustle Climate Hoax to Siphon Trillions & Destabilize Global Economy November 29, 2022 By The Sharp Edge As a driving force placing pressure on public and private sectors to comply, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) plays a key role in funneling trillions from the global economy while influencing government policies and propping up the climate hoax narrative. While IRENA is pivotal in the “no-regrets” initiative to transform the global economy, the international organization enjoys immunities and privileges which allow them to operate without transparency or accountability. History & Mission The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) was officially founded on January 26, 2009 in Bonn, Germany. UN planning meetings which took place in the years prior, plus a U.S. House bill to establish IRENA introduced in March of 2008 by Democrat Ed Markey, who is the Senate author of the Green New Deal, suggest that the United Nations and the United States were the major driving forces behind the founding of this agency. At the time of its founding, 75 countries signed the IRENA statute, while Canada and Russia were the only G8 countries that initially declined. It was determined in June of 2009 that Abu Dhabi, UAE would be the headquarters of the international organization and a few years later in April of 2011 IRENA held their first assembly. While only UN member states are permitted to join, IRENA has grown from 85 members in 2011 to 168 members in 2022. IRENA has become a leading agency to oversee the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the UN 2030 Agenda and is regarded as a “global hub” for facilitating the flow of investments and driving climate policies that transform the global governance and economy into their dystopian vision of full control. IRENA acts as a “global platform” to synthesize partnerships between international, intergovernmental, non-governmental and private sector parties to act in complete lock-step as they usher in their plan for “A New World.” The UN considers IRENA to be “the lead intergovernmental agency” for their “global energy transformation.” Privileges & Immunities IRENA is one part of a global web of international organizations which have been granted immunities and privileges allowing them to operate without transparency or accountability, as outlined in Corey’s Digs report Laundering With Immunity: The Control Framework – Part 1. Their headquarters agreement with the UAE offers privileges and immunities for their members and assets, while their official...
