So, what should happen to all the workers when all work is taken over by robots?

Labor saving devices were sold to an economy with the idea that more time then could be spent on leisure, but some may have feared the outcome then, too. What would people do with all the extra time on their hands if they didn't have to work so hard to provide the stuff they needed to live on? ...

dmatic replies on Apr 27, 2019:
@jneedler There should be an amount of money in circulation to carry on the business and trade transactions in an economy. Money represents the wealth that is in an economy and the money is backed by the wealth it represents. Historically, there has not been enough money in circulation, therefore, the money owners are allowed to charge interest to people who need to use it. It's called "usury". When there is enough money in circulation, then more is available to use and more wealth is produced. Purchasing power should be equal to productive power in an economy.

@jneedler I've heard of Ramsey, but to my knowledge have never heard him. Your understanding is common among 'educated economists', who have bought the explanation from their instructors. I agree that the Federal Reserve is the big problem, however. They simply print "money" "out of nothing, and then "loan" it to the government...at interest! Huge amounts of printed "money' even at small interest percentage yield for the money ';creators' huge profits for the private enterprise. If I am not mistaken, interest payments alone on the federal debt are getting close to $400 Billion per year! If, and it's a big IF, 100,000,000 U.S. citizens pay taxes, that's $4,000 per taxpayer that goes just to pay the interest service charge on the debt! To the privately owned entity called the Federal Reserve! What a scheme!

I know we have been granted, by our loving Creator, a will, but am not sure how "free" it is. We may think we have it, and some even worship it, (their so-called free will), but I'm not sure what they mean by "free". Is that free from influence? Free from the history that you describe? Free to choose among what kind of choices? Pre=determined choices? You know.

And these gas particles, that are not CO2 that are the greenhouse gases of which you speak, "It's a gas particle that absorbs and readmits infrared radiation other wise know as heat. " (I think you mean re-emit, rather than readmit?) the heat that is re-emitted is not compounded in any way is it? It's still the same heat that was absorbed by the gas particle that is not CO2? Still seems non-sensical to me....that we need to decrease CO2 levels if it is not CO2 that is the problem. CO2 is necessary for plant growth, correct? And plants are good, not?

dmatic replies on Apr 19, 2019:
@parsifal Sure. I agree with timon-phocas, that Jesus was not crucified on a Friday. I also don't believe He rose from the dead on a Sun day. I think He was in the grave exactly three days and three nights, just like Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish (whale?) Indeed there is some need of explanation. I am not a turditionalist. Jesus warned that many would come in His name saying He was the Christ (truth), but would deceive many! Many have been lied to. The Crucifixion is very interesting indeed. Pilate played the role of the high priest when he, after examining the Lamb of God said: "I find no fault with this man", which is what the high priest did upon examining the lamb presented for the sacrifice. Anyway, you bring up an interesting point about timing. I will more into it, but am fairly certain there is an explanation, as there usually is with apparent contradictions that I have found. So, as you probably know, some people do not know what year Jesus was even crucified. Nor, even how old He was when He "died". First, we need to understand Hebrew reckoning of God's calendar. The first Moonth (month) was called Aviv (abib) or Nissan, but when did it start? The Hebrews, following God's instructions, had a lunar and solar calendar. The sighting of the first sliver of a "new moon" just before sunset, became the first day of the new month (moonth) at sunset of that "day, which began at sunset....not "12:00 midnight". We know that a lunar cycle, from new moon to new moon, takes about 29.54 days...string twelve of them together and one gets 354.48 days, let's call it 11 days short of 365 days in our "year". So, about every third year, a second twelfth month was added. So some years had thirteen moon cycles in the same solar year, to make up for the lapses. If you want to know more about it, just ask, but you probably already know all this? Anyway, God instructed the Keeping of Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread to occur in the first month of every calendar year. The Passover day was the 14th, from sunset of the 13th, to sunset of the 14th. Sunset of the 15th day began the First Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which was a "high Sabbath" day, which normally did not fall on the regular weekly Sabbath day, but occasionally it did! This is what confused the(shall we call them, the gentile Christians?) so-called Roman Catholic church, and their translations of Hebrew and Greek scriptures. Anyway, Passover day was also, the way I understand it, the preparation day for the "high Sabbath" day of the First day of the feast of unleavened bread. So, what we know is that Jesus celebrated the Passover meal with His disciples on the evening of the beginning of the 14th day, before sunrise. Midnight of that...

@Marta-Amance With all due respect, Economics is the study of the production, distribution and consumption of wealth. It is a study of how wealth is produced and its distribution after having been created. If you don't think a fair and just marketplace, where scales are just and right, for example is not a concern for the proper distribution of wealth, we probably don't have much more to talk about. Economic systems have been proposed and studied in the past. Your initial question was about "right" principles. Is Socialism "right"? Is Capitalism? Who SHOULD own the means of production? Who should own, or be permitted to consume, the wealth that is produced in an economy? Which of these two systems produces more wealth to be distributed, and how should that distribution work? "Money"? Is that a good way to determine who gets stuff produced? What if everyone does not have the same amount of money to spend? Should everyone be given stuff, even if they have produced nothing? These are all questions of "morality". And, yes, I understand the complexity of "systems". I aim to endorse a just and fair system. The present one we are experiencing is not. I will get to comments about your comments about inflation when I can find a bit more time. Thanks

@Marta-Amance Agree that money, as a trade convenience, has value to a society! It's use allows someone to carry a bushel of corn in his pocket when going to the market place. And yes, I think I understand "Purchasing Power"....which leads to the discussion of a just monetary system. Just has to do with fairness, or rightness, as opposed to unfair or wrong. To 'devalue' the purchasing power of the units of currency or coinage through inflation, for example, does show the instability of the system. And, of course you are right about everybody's confidence in the system. It works as long as people have confidence in it. If the purchasing power falters, so will people's confidence and they will look for other ways to buy stuff....bartering for example. In a just system, the money is like a yardstick, it measures value. The length of an inch does not change, but the thing being measured does. The values of the things money measures may change but the standard of measure does not. Maybe if we just talked about inflation, we could get a better understanding. I agree with you about an inanimate object being neither moral or immoral, of course. It is the love of money that is the root of all evil, not the money itself. Therefore, let me ask you a question. What is the cause of inflation, or in other words, what infects the purchasing power of 'money'?

@Marta-Amance I will key on this sentence you wrote in answer to my question: " It is the medium of trade or exchange because it represents value rather than simple convenience." I agree! Money represents value. It does not have to "be" the value if its effect is representing what is truly valuable, namely, the goods and services, the wealth, in an economy. Therefore, a "fiat" money system is OK, because the money within it does represent the values that money is used to buy. So, let's continue: Why is our money system in the U.S. not just? What could be done to change the unjust system to a just system? To make the perfectly fine fiat system just again?

@Marta-Amance you wrote: "At one time the treasury policy was to keep a reserve of gold and or of silver to back the issuance of bills of credit. Can you guess why? Coinage has a real value that is relative to the content of precious metals they contain and their value reflect those prices of the precious metals in the open market. But what value does a piece of paper contain?" Trade began before money was invented. As a trade convenience, money was invented so that people didn't have to find a willing partner in trade, who wanted their stuff. Money, in those ancient days, did have inherent value. But its value rose or fell as the commodity itself's value rose or fell according to supply and demand. A standard of measure of value then, had no standard. Money should merely represent value, as long as its value is honored wherever in an economy it is used. Certainly money, to be believed, or to have faith in, had to be "Backed" by something of value. To be used as a trade convenience, it needs to be backed by the wealth it represents. Money does not only represent the value of gold, nor does it only need to be backed by redeemable gold. That did not work as the economy enlarged. Gold used to be $32 an ounce. Then all of a sudden, someone said it was worth $64 an ounce. Now, it is over $1300. The scheme, then would be to obtain control of, or ownership of all the gold and then one would be "King", making the rules. Wealth comes in many forms, and all these forms of wealth back legitimate money. This ensures that no one can be King and make rules that are unfair and unjust. More if you want, later.

Sometimes, our forefathers and mothers have inherited lies...so to base one's opinion on what is right, according to what they have taught is questionable wisdom. Your flippant last paragraph quoted here: "Now you may feel the right principles come from god but last time I checked with him he denied such a statement." is a bit bothersome, or revealing. The tone of your posts suggests you think you are fairly smart, so let me ask you something, if I may: If you were wrong about something, would you want someone to tell you? Oh, and to answer your question about inducements....that would be 'love'.
Below are a couple links (thank you for them, @SpikeTalon) that are really excellent for explaining ...

What are the purposes of vaccines?

@HollyLouise Thanks, Holly! I appreciate the education. They didn't tell me why I can't eat grapefruit! I guess I can eat lemons but not grapefruit. I am interested in the truth about vaccines, though, so I'll be following your conversations. Thanks!
