@parsifal you: "deeper? as 'in the shit'? smile009.gif" That's not what I had in mind, but it can get deep, as you may or may not know. My wife once lost a shoe in the mire of our small cattle and horse yard, and we still have never found it. I'm just a simple man, trying to understand. Certainly, we see the duality of "nature" all over, or the duality of existence. Hot and cold, male and female, good and evil, and all the degrees in between....such things as very hot and very cold, very male and very female, very good and very evil. To deny that there is male and/or female, or hot and cold, or good and evil, it seems is a trap in itself. Note, I say, it "seems". The Bible counsels us to look at the unseen, rather than the seen, because the seen is temporal, and the unseen is eternal. So, how does one look at the unseen? That "seems" impossible, unless one looks with alternate sight, or insight. But, that can get "hairy", too. Many people claim to see all sorts of stuff. Who am I to tell them they are blind? Or imagining things? As far as looking from a Biblical perspective, I do claim to take a bit of solace in being able to trust the Word of God. By the way, the Word of God is that which He has spoken. There are also, recorded within the Book, the words of Satan, or the devil, or the evil one. I think we are all destined to a glorious future, if in your world, there is even a future. Maybe in your world there is no such thing as time? Since it is all one? Such thoughts are too deep for me. The time dimension is an interesting one, and I'm so far, content, living within it, with the expectation of understanding it all "later". Peace my friend...we could write a book about our experiences couldn't we?

dmatic replies on May 11, 2019:
@jneedler In order for money to work as a trade convenience, it does not need to be "valuable" itself. In other words, it does not need inherent value to function as a trade convenience. The money is NOT wealth. It represents wealth. It's kind of like a measure. Kinda like a yard or a foot or an inch. Now, you could be satisfied with the "yard". OR you could be satisfied with a yard of (fill in the blank)...cloth, concrete, or whatever the yardstick is measuring. The yard itself is not value....but what it measures IS. Same thing with money that functions merely as a trade convenience. It only maintains "value" so-to-speak, if there is something there to trade that has value. You can't eat money for nourishment, but the money can be used to buy food. Money is just a measuring device. Does that make any sense? It's getting late again...I had hoped to have some time today, but 'things came up...Thanks for responding.

I can prove from the Bible that usury was charging 1% or less interest. I have often thought, that before I die, I would like to pen a book with a title such as "A World without interest". I have discussed this with many people for over 40 years...to very little "success"! It may take a book to convince, or, at least the Holy Spirit! Please bear with me...I'd love to discuss it with you. God has a very good reason for declaring that interest collecting is unjust gain. It is gain, alright for the money owner, but it IS unjust. The guy thought the master was a "hard man....gathering where he had not sown" etc. if I recall correctly. If the lazy servant thought that of the master then he should have put the money out for usury, because that would have been in keeping with his erroneous judgment, but the master was not that Lawless!

@Oxfret Thank you Oxfret, Your mention of a 'full description of (my) religion', caused me to ponder that I'm certain I don't enjoy a full description. I'm still seeking. If I may, from your description of dharma, ii is a non personification of the teacher? Life itself? If that is a true understanding of the concept, then it makes sense to me. In my view, God is very intimately involved with each and every one of us....desiring to teach us the lessons He has for us. As for "praying to oneself", are you praying to yourself for strength or guidance or wisdom; or are you simply having a conversation with yourself? That's an interesting "idea" that needs further exploration by me to understand better. Communicating with oneself, if the self, whatever that is, is true and righteous and wise, may lead to greater discovery or, on the other hand, to trust oneself may be foolish, too, and may lead one into traps of deception. Jesus said that if we keep His Father's commandments that they would come and abide in us. I would like that.

@parsifal About "reality". In my opinion, reality is that which is, not that which ain't! "Smart" people used to tell us that they had discovered the smallest thing in existence. maybe they called it an atom or a molecule. They were so proud. They had seen it with the latest microscope. Then they discovered something smaller...an electron, a proton and a neutron and then declared: This time we have really found the smalllest thing in existence. then...with the advance of microscopes...they discovered still smaller units of matter. The Truth is probably that matter can be divided and subdivided without end. When God created matter, He didn't create it out of "nothing" as is commonly thought. He created it out of Himself...hence the God particle? Of which all things are created... So, God IS Love. How does that work? Is Love material? Oh, God is Spirit. Yep, that's true...but what is Spirit? There seem to be spirit 'bodies', but what are they composed of? Does God have a body? Of course, thoughts have "power". Are thoughts material? Are thoughts composed of matter? Or are thoughts spiritual? From where do thoughts come?

@parsifal Whew! I must say that you are probably a much deeper individual than I, and I may struggle to understand you and from where you are coming or where you are going, though I believe we are "destined" to find Truth....if we seek for It with all our hearts. Indeed, we must be educated, whether that happens because we educate ourselves, or whether someone or something else educates us, may be beside the point. However, we must be careful, because "knowledge" puffs up. Meaning, in my opinion, it can put us 'on airs' and not on solid ground...so-to-speak. We all know individuals who put on airs. Correct? They pretend to know something but we really know that they don't "Know". (yet). I think the biggest inhibitor of "knowing" is puffed up pride, wherein a seeker thinks he's found something true, but doesn't quite know how it all fits, and since he's found something that glistens and seems to be a bit of truth that others do not have, he starts thinking he is better than others or something, and, in humility, does not consider the fact that "any man who thinks he knows anything, does not yet know it as he ought"! This is not to say that discovering truth is not exciting and exhilarating and freeing! But, lots of self-appointed profits(sic) and teachers have deceived many along the way as they seem to seek the praise of other men. In your questions of physics, or, I assume your investigation of the physical world or creation, of matter, material...those things one can 'see', we must consider those things which we cannot 'see', the things that are not transitory. Those are the things that "reality" may consist of.

@parsifal It was a happy Sabbath, Thank you. And yours? I think we will all, someday, come into agreement with Truth, with God. If the definition you gave of orthodoxy is correct, then I can see where I have been, not fitting in, with those who propose their specific brands, and that is why, I believe, God called me into the 'wilderness' quite a while ago. I was too immature in love to discuss things with many who assumed, or presumed, to know all truth, according to their particular 'orthodoxy'. I'm still trying to grow in love from a pure heart. As far as I can tell, I am yet very far from the goal of the Commandment! But, I believe our Father to be very patient, merciful and long-suffering with my many foibles and errs. The Bible has a particularly revealing statement by Paul in 1 Cor 8, I believe, something like: "Any man who thinks he knows something, does not yet know it as he ought." So, I try to in humility listen and learn, and yet, jump into the frays sometimes, and speak. There are some things i think I "know", but, I try to leave room for the very real possibility that I may have something a bit or very seriously, wrong!

So, what should happen to all the workers when all work is taken over by robots?
dmatic comments on Apr 28, 2019:
Labor saving devices were sold to an economy with the idea that more time then could be spent on leisure, but some may have feared the outcome then, too. What would people do with all the extra time on their hands if they didn't have to work so hard to provide the stuff they needed to live on? ...

@RichardPD I've heard people say this, but recently heard from an official that lives there who disagrees that they are doing fine. Personally, haven't studied them.
So, I was lookin' thru my online wasteland lookin' for Game Of Thrones tid bits.

You don't seem so 'wicked' to me. At least you're a bit self-introspective! And even a bit funny. :) The devil is after the younguns! Get em early...you know the strategy.... The world can be very deceptive as it promises "happiness", while enslaving to its wishes. Be careful.

@RichardPD That is why, originally, we were not a democracy, we were a representative Republic. Governed by Laws. Forced redistribution of wealth created in an economic system will prove to be unsustainable.

Either some form of socialism to spread the wealth or we will have violence and war.
dmatic replies on Apr 30, 2019:
@george Thanks for the explanation. Life, however, is not a zero sum game, it would appear. Just because someone has what seems to be an excessive amount, does not mean that I, or you, or anybody else doesn't have enough. There are some people who pursue those riches, and other people pursue more valuable things. What we would like is the freedom to pursue "happiness". It used to be "property". Both, socialism and democratic socialism are destined to fail. Neither work, because they are unjust systems. My principle is justice. Justice for everybody harms nobody. I am for peace. Peace will not last if there is injustice in a system. A "government" must be "righteous" if it is to govern properly. Governments establish economic systems...within the territory they are responsible to govern. Our so-called 'democratic socialist' system is unjust and will crash, relatively soon. It is not sustainable. What is built after the crash remains to be seen. I have some ideas.
