Anything you could do in terms of streamlining and making more obvious Navigation would be useful. I would suggest that “groups” (Recent Group Activity) window come up below the general postings (Recent Member Activity) window. Most people looking for a Group already know what to look for.

Actually most “Great Empires” and “Great Civilizations” crumble from within long before the “Barbarians” come along and drag down their walls and crush the inhabitants. A continually recurring theme in these situations is that corruption and disapation run rampant which weakens the will and fortitude of the Citizenry which results in a slide into Chaos or Anarchy which allows any attacker to triumph. The thing that bothers me most is how quickly it seems the USA will be transitioning from Creation to Dissolution ... and most of the pavement to the resultant Hell is composed of Alleged Good Intentions.

By way of an answer I suggest that you look in a mirror and, being as Honest and Truthful as possible, ask yourself what sort of an “Instructor” ... “Educator” ... YOU are. I would suggest that you might not be pleased with your answers and yet ... THAT’S Not Your Fault. However, if YOU are unsatisfied by Your answers, TODAY becomes the day that failure to correct those answers DOES become Your Fault. (Today is the FIRST Day of the Rest of YOUR Life) The baseline “Goals” of a “Proper Education” has never really changed in a few hundred years. The “Target” and preferred “Results” however have. Children, Kids, Students are rarely exposed to “Critical Thinking” or even, the “Art of Self Education” any more. This was happening in the 1960’s and 1970’s and has become increasingly worse over the years as those who were Untrained became those who were supposed to Teach. Our Education System has become more of a Social Experiment in Pushing Dogma than in Teaching, Training young minds to THINK. Until such a time that the Requirement to train young minds to Think ... to Think Critically ... to Encourage Questioning of Information Sources ... kids are going to continue to arrive in your classrooms unprepared ... even AFTER Remedial Studies ... to LEARN.

This works well for boys as well.

No. Civil Unions based on Sexuality and the Desire to Be "Legally Bonded" ... Maybe ... Probably. The drawback I see is simply based on whether the non-reproducible "Gay Couple" can then participate in the programs that are designed to Promote Future Production/Reproduction that a Typical Heterosexual Pair Represent as a Potential. I think that they should not. What I find "odd" is that this is even a question. "Marriage" is a Religious Event resulting in a status promoted and approved by the "Religion" doing the "Marrying" that is THEN tacitly acknowledged by the STATE. I think its more a case the various Religions or Faiths to determine the question of the suitability of "Gay Marriage".

Your post looks like you pulled it out of a Textbook on "Philosophy". The question, on the face of it, is ridiculous. The answers can be no less so. Any answer is going to be predicated on the situation of the person giving the answer. Europeans and Euro Civilizations are likely to see it as you do, or electricity or ... Sub Saharan Africans might look at the question is total askance West Asians might do the same East Asians might simply laugh at the oddness of the question ... An example is "the Age of Enlightenment" was supposed to have been what heralded the American and French Revolutions except that their versionof "Enlightenment" stemmed from two completely different Social and Political "Thrusts" and resulted in two completely different Social and Political "Resuts" and yet both groups frequently consider Their Version of That Incident to be THEIR "Age of Enlightenment".

High Speed Rail is an interesting idea ... The problem is, over relatively short periods of time, ALL "Rail Systems" have failed to produce enough income to support themselves. After figuring Property Rights, Passage Rights, and all the costs there is simply too much disincentive to build something of this nature.

I believe that there is ... or should be ... a lot of Grey in the Law. I don't think one has to follow the "Law" in every detail. YOU are Responsible for Your Actions. Should a fake hate crime be prosecuted to the same degree as a real one?

“Fake” Hate Crimes I believe should be MORE “Prosecutable” than “Real” “Hate Crimes”. #1. “Hate Crime” is a fabricated crime of nebulous definition. How does the Court PROVE the Latent Intent of the Transgressor? It’s essentially a “Crime” that can be thrown into ANY case no matter how tenuous to make the case that much tougher. It is yet another, fairly recent, form of “crime” that the Accused is required to Disprove (Guilty until Proven Innocent) where the definition of the “crime” can instantly be expanded at the Will of the Prosecution. #2. “Fake” Hate Crime actually IS readily Prosecutable in that, Intent is easy to Prove AND the Accused has Self Admitted to agreeing that a certain action Qualifies as Hate Crime and is seeking to profit by Their Understanding of It. My thought is that ANYONE Convicted of Perpetrating a “Fake” Hate Crime should receive (at minimum) 50% of the Sentence that the Actual “Hate Crime” would receive. However, since “Hate Crime” is a made up “Crime” it might be hard to come up with a Real Sentence so perhaps one is required to be made.

Property Tax, in my understanding is one of the few taxes that were approved from the beginning of these US of A. These funds were (and are) levied by the Respective State in which the Property falls. These taxes are supposed to be used to pay for that State’s Operations and Programs and, though few people care to admit it, the basis of the idea is sound. Owning “Property” means that, in several ways, you are dependent upon the State to provide many services which require funding. Originally I believe the Right to Vote was dependent upon your being a “Property Owner”. As to the setting of those taxes, people ... “Property Owners” ... were incentivized to be involved in and with their State and Local Governments and, to have a powerful voice in what that Tax was to be and how those funds were to be spent. The expansion of the “Right to Vote” to include “Working People” (ie. Other People Paying Taxes) was reasonable as again, it was a case of “Representation Taxes” However, once the “Right to Vote” was expanded to include “Everyone” regardless of their tax payment status, the Rights of Property Owners and Taxpayers was watered down so as to be insignificant. Property Owners and Taxpayers permitted this to occur by Failing to be involved with Their Government. THEY Failed to Protect Their Prerogatives. States are now largely run based on a “Popular Vote” in which a high percentage of the Voters are NOT Taxpayers ... Do NOT have any “Skin in the Game” ... Property Tax remains a reasonable and viable Tax System What has changed is allowing the “Right to Vote” for everyone to enable or force the State to engage in Operations and Programs that are not Suitable or Protective of the Property Owners’ or Taxpayers’ Interests.
