Well, most of this is obvious to anyone who paid the least amount of attention to the realities behind the concept. Simply the idea of power generation via some means meant a percentage loss in efficiency during transmission. Then of course the question of “means” ... its not like they’re using solar and wind as primary sources (or even secondary) ... so the power is generated how? Further, those batteries lose efficiency over time and batteries ... in creation and reclamation... are an extremely “dirty” process. Getting the raw materials was/is another obvious flaw in the scheme. I’ve had these conversations with a few people but, if they were psyched up on the idea of “electric” cars, busses, trucks & etc, they really didn’t want to hear it ... but then, they are the ones who believe wind and solar are actually viable “sources” as well. Of course, I can imagine all the snide requests for “Information Sources” that are likely to arrive.

U.S. Supreme Court and then there’s STATE Supreme Courts (such as the one in Pennsylvania) At the STATE Level (such as in PA) some of the Supreme Courts have made “rulings” which may or may not be predicated on the STATE’s Constitution... these may or may not be valid for elections at STATE Level. The U.S. Supreme Court however make the determining rules on ALL FEDERAL ELECTIONS predicated on the U.S. Constitution which over rides ALL State Constitutions. The case in point is that the US Constitution says that ONLY State Legislators MAKE or AMEND the Elections Laws that Govern Elections in THEIR STATE ... as long as they are IN COMPLIANCE with the US Constitution. FURTHER, It states that ONLY State Legislators Pick the ELECTORS for Their State In PA ... Its been the custom to allow the Governor and State Secretary to do all sorts of Election Oriented things ... and, as long as that wasn’t disputed, that was allowed ... Would cobbling those Counties and States who more closely align Politically and Socially work for good or ill? While I think that maybe in the short term it would be good, in the long term it would inevitably be bad. Most “Blue” areas are Population Dense and creating such an overwhelming polarity would cause a conflict. The first problem would be one of Representation... its lopsided now due to Blue areas having greater population densities. Truthfully, the more Dense the Population is, the more Socialistic the Area becomes ... simply because Denser Populations are forced to rely more and more on Government Assistance ... on “Social” Programs. Most of those Dense Populations are due to the existence of Economic Hubs. It would cause essentially the same reason for the first War Between the States with likely a similar outcome. The South lost due to a lack of manpower (population) and technology. Blue Areas rely on Red Areas for sustenance and would soon find itself “required” to Force the Red to provide for them. Red Areas would once again find that while they had the Will and Drive to support themselves, they would be without major Economic Hubs (trade and technology) or an endless stream of immigrants to bolster their numbers.
