BronsonStocking: California Burning [townhall.com]
purdyday comments on Oct 26, 2019:
Massive wild fires all over the Western States, have been occurring in the last several years, wholly blamed on droughts by climate activists of course, but the real reason, imo and that of people living in these areas, is due to those states with holding forestry management funds and diverting ...
Bay0Wulf replies on Oct 27, 2019:
Being involved in forestry on several levels, I have had to go to the Parks Department in NJ several times to try to get them to allow permitted wood harvesting. Each time I have I ran into the “tree-hugger” mantra of “Save Our Trees”. Each time I have had to drag out the history of the Indigenous Peoples of North America doing massive “burns”. Each time I have had to explain the science of Forest Fires (the underbrush, sickly and deadfall wood creates the temperatures that allow healthy trees to ignite) Each time I have met with extremely limited success ... or been stymied by a bureaucratic “Forester” who simply responded with “Liability Issues” ... Forests and Woodlands are beautiful, important, an asset that has few parallels ... the US Citizenry needs to be educated on why such places MUST be Properly Managed. One would think that all those “Brainiacs” out in California would instinctively understand this.

As well intentioned as Trump's Doral offer was, it was destined to be perceived as political and I'm glad he had the wisdom to avoid that entanglement (unlike the Clinton foundation or Biden in Ukraine).

Yes. It was obviously going to draw criticism. On the other hand, given that it’s one of his “regular” retreats, the security, the town, the general area have all been tightened up ... that money is already laid out ... taking advantage of that is actually logical. On the other hand, it would come as no surprise to me if we were to find out that he suggested it simply to “jerk their chains”.

@Cgraus Kill not Wound ... Yes, in that totally illogical process that the DemLeft &/or LibLeft call “thought”, they’ve come to the conclusion that, if you simply wound a person who’s in the process of robbing your home, trying to kill you, trying to hurt your family, THAT Piece of Garbage can then sue you in Court for Damages ... among other things and actually win. So, if you end up in a situation where you MUST Shoot somebody, simply make sure that when you stop, they’re DEAD. Not only does it make it hard for them (or anyone else) to sue you, but it also does the US Citizenry a favor by saving the money for trials and prison not to mention ridding the planet of somebody who displays callous disregard for life. That is, a very old saying you might have heard; “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Well, in the case of threatening your life, they are displaying that they like having their life threatened ... so simply do them a favor, and terminate them ... they seem to like that kind of treatment.

Bay0Wulf replies on Oct 16, 2019:
Sorry. Disagree. Babies are born with a personal need for those traits Bloom says they’re “born with” due to the basic survival instinct. They need these things themselves so they recognize them when they see them. Except “fairness” ... I’ve known lots of infants and toddlers whose ONLY sense of “fairness” began and ended with “ME!!!” I believe if these early traits are not reinforced as quickly as possible, they are easily lost by experiences that might be contrary to these. For instance, “empathy” can be lost to selfishness if a child is pandered to while young ... what then counterbalances “bad” or “negative” lessons? Morals are literally engrained by rote ... one brings up a child (I hope) to be reasonably capable of mingling well in society and able to “be comfortable with the person they see in the mirror” ... Morals are ... in a manner of speaking ... the “Rules” that mankind has been developing since they started living together as a group ... any group.

Since gas/diesel/propane generators are actually relatively inexpensively gotten at places like Harbor Freight, it sounds like a good idea ... Except noise ... except you really can’t run them for days on end ... except you’d have to come up with a respectably sized alternate gas tank ... except now you’d probably be paying $10 to 15 a day for fuel (of whatever type) ... except there’s a lot of maintenance required even when you’re not using them ...

Well ... I know some people who jumped very early onto the Solar Panel / Off the Grid idea and it works very well for them ... BUT ... they went into it themselves without any “Programs” or outside financial assistance. Much of their homes uses very low wattage devices, yes, they have banks of batteries, yes, they usually have a back-up generator ... though the most use they get is the monthly runtime requirement to keep them healthy ... (there’s a funny snob/pride aspect to this) So, it can be done and in areas that are not known for lots of “sun” and it can support a pretty modern electrical use situation. My one friend is a full blown computer geek / consultant from way back of nowhere on the Vermont/Maine border ... and he lacks for nothing using a relatively small bank of solar panels set up in the field. He’s been at it since the late 80s or early 90s. Advances in LED lights and Display Screens has made his life even easier in terms of electricity. I have nothing against solar power for personal, individual, use but the idea of “Feeding the Grid” in any meaningful way is simply BS ... at this time anyway.

Look what they found ... the SAME “sunshine and rainbows” they found in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s ... Iceland has been doing geothermal all of my life ... literally. When I was a teenager National Geographic went into it in great detail. The “Nordic” thing is maybe a little new but ... look at the size and population of the place ... On the other hand, maybe you missed a couple years ago when Germany “provided all the power they needed” for three days with non-fossil fuel (statistically ... not “actually” ... which was buried in the report) then, shortly after that (within months) Germany abandoned its attempt to “go green” and began to dismantle much of what was in place ... because it actually didn’t work. It’s simply all too easy to shoot the things full of holes (which makes me quite unpopular) but I assemble the facts and hand them to them and ... they go off to come up with something else ...

Every day there are those who invent yet another electrical widget that “everyone” NEEDS. For instance, when I was a kid, very few people had “air conditioning”. Very few public buildings had it. No cars had it. Now, schools and public buildings close if the AC goes down. People can’t imagine going to work or even staying home if the AC isn’t working. People apologize if the car AC isn’t working ... as if the car doesn’t have windows ... AC uses a HUGE amount of power ... and yet this is only ONE Thing people refuse to “live” without.

@Naomi Iceland can get away with that (geo thermal) ... but Iceland is essentially a volcano ... most places don’t have that ability in large measure. Hydro ... think Niagra Falls ... Hoover Dam ... works but is limited to where you have rivers and water motion that cooperates. Tidal power is interesting where the tide swings are very large but are relatively inefficient ... returning very little relative to resources used. Bio Energy is somewhat interesting ... except that it uses Bio Mass to create energy ... Bio Mass is stuff like trees ... and sometimes trash but an awful lot of trash isn’t exactly “Bio”. Granted, people create A LOT of Bio Mass but ... I could write you a book as to why it’s not a very good answer. Wind Power and Solar are largely a super con ... the outright damage they do to the environment is enormous from manufacturing to upkeep to their presence to their refurbishing &/or replacement. The cost and unreliability of power from either of these sources makes them commercially unusable ... good for a tiny community willing to accept the limitations but not for a nation. Solar cells begin to degrade the moment they are exposed to the sun and have a functional output life of about. 10 years ... all the while losing their efficiency. Turbines ... the drawbacks to them are almost too long to list. Really, by now I would think that you would know that NPR is a Liberal Left Biased “Source”

If you’re waiting on MSM to “report” anything of value, you’ll be waiting for quite a while ... like until He’ll freezes over. There have been many positive steps made (ie. “Deals” ) but they’ve not been the “Big Deal” which is the way it goes with difficult negotiations. Trump has been putting pressure on China ... and on several others ... and getting a lot of tangible results ... he then ratchets up or eases off the pressure according to how “things” go. I know most people think “Deals” are made overnight because that’s the way they’ve been portrayed in the past ... except most “Deals” previously weren’t worth the paper they were written on or the breath to mention. Our typical politicians have made lots of “Deals” that the opponents have simply nodded to and then ignored ... lots of great news in the papers but no results. Trump’s Deals are different in that, the opponent nods and then goes on with “business as usual” only to find themselves caught by the short hairs as Trump immediately pulls on their leash and punishes them for not following the deal. It’s a learning process both for our opponents and ... apparently ... for ignorant US Citizens.

Are we failing to complete the circle of life, due to our greed and/or our over indulgence too the extent of genetically manipulating produce, in order to get as much as we can, with as little compensation as possible
Bay0Wulf replies on Sep 23, 2019:
Was/Is it “greed” or perceived “need”? You might have noticed that most of the areas are largely overused over extensive periods of time. The area of Soil Science is actually relatively new and most people, even those in the business of farming, have little knowledge of it. The mulch, the animal waste, as noted are not to “feed” the plants but the microbes. The microbes digest the mulch, humus and waste and, in turn, feed the plants. Without the microbes, regardless of how much fertilizer is applied the plants would not survive. As to the genetic alteration of plants and animals, we, as a species, have been doing that since the dawn of Homo sapiens. We now do it on a much more refined level but the results are largely the same. The only real damage we are doing is creating a monoculture of crops which destroys the Bio diversity that is important and we are ruining the soil we are planting in through over planting and destroying the biome ... the diversity of microbes ... as we plow, till and turn the soil. If you look at the situation, it is not “greed” that drives the market. Everything produced is consumed ... almost without exception. There may be a financial reward for producing a lot of of any given item but most smaller farmers are still struggling to make ends meet. The market corrects the “greed” instinct by causing production to earn less per unit as more than sufficient units become available.

Well, almost all of the “changing” (or cherry picking) I have ever seen in this topic was done completely to support the narrative of those who chose to believe (in the USA, the Left). I can’t say I’ve seen much evidence of this being done by “conservatives” whether scientists or even “regular people”. If someone makes a claim and couches it as “truth”, I have always (at least since adolescence) been willing to give them my attention ... but honest proofs must be presented relatively quickly and, even so, I will do a large amount of research on the subject if I have any interest in it at all.

@timon_phocas What’s most interesting is the concept that not long ago a Chinese company contracted for rice out of the ... Carolinas (? ) ... I haven’t heard a valid reason for them having done that yet ... and I’m looking. People are of the impression that China is much larger in land mass than the USA but, in fact, it’s about the same size with much less farm-able land ... most of their soil is “loess” and a poor soil for growing much of anything. When wet it’s sort of like clay, when dry it’s like clumped up kitty litter except it doesn’t have much water holding ability. Also of interest is that almost all of what we hear about China is roughly equivalent to one of Our Coasts ... basically the East Coast ... it’s a relatively thin belt near the ocean. All of inland China is rarely ever mentioned or heard of ... mostly because it’s simply not important or of interest to the CCCP.
Yeah ... Who didn’t see THIS coming?

Bay0Wulf replies on Sep 14, 2019:
Yes ... Lots of people don’t realize that aspect. Aside from an actual tariff, China (CCCP) largely controls who they ALLOW the people to “see” as vendors. On the other hand, the CCCP was deliberately targeting farm products ... pork and soy (foodstuffs) ... in an effort to hurt US Farmers ... in an effort to hurt President Trump’s re-election attempts ... AND in an attempt to hurt the USA in terms of this “Trade War”. LOTS of people here in the USA started screaming that the farmers were going to be devastated. That the farmers would lose not only the sales for THIS year but also possibly FOREVER as Other Countries would step up and Sell China the things that China put a tariff on (against US Products) but would then step up their game and permanently increase Future Production. However, a Funny Thing happened on the way to the Market ... First, China is having Major Problems in their Pig and Poultry by way of diseases that are causing them to exterminate MILLIONS ... Hundreds of Millions of Their Pigs and Chickens ... further, they are having Major Problems with their Crops as the “Army Worm” moves upwards from the south. By the way, these Problems are partly created by, and highly exacerbated by, Their Own Production Methods and Policies ... Second, very few nations (people) grow or produce any real surplus of foodstuffs beyond what they KNOW the Market will bear. Most nations are close to their capacity to produce these things anyway ... they might be able to expand somewhat but are they, are their people willing to gamble that such an expansion will be merited when the “Trade War” is resolved? This sudden demand on alternative markets is hard to provide for and not likely to last. Third, if China maintains a tariff on these products from the USA (makes them cost more to the people) and they’re products the People can’t do without (a Basic Food) they are going to Have to buy them from Somewhere Else ... where they ALREADY Cost More (USA was the least expensive source) ... so there’s sort of a “tariff” on the material already. Fourth, once much of the available surplus is purchased worldwide (see #2 above), THOSE places are going to have to Buy those same products to replenish Their Own Stocks from the ONLY Seller with a surprising surplus (the USA). In Fact, if I had a farm in Canada or South America, I would be signing contracts as fast as possible with China and then, running to the USA to contract for as much of those materials as possible, having the stuff shipped to “me” and having it branded “Made in Canada” or wherever .... China actually has very few arrows in the Trade War Quiver ... MOST of what We buy from China is “Optional” (We CAN Live Without It) ... MOST of what the People of ...

@ScottforKing Not very often. The first barrier is that you’re a “New Hire”. The second problem is that companies rarely hang out a “Help Wanted; Creative People” sign. The third barrier is that they don’t know that they need or want “creativity” in most industries. Most of the interviews I’ve had involve me having to get the prospective employer to tell me what the job “entails”. An actual scenario from a few jobs in my 20s ... I get hired to do something ... let’s say as a Purchasing Agent ... then they realize I know and can create marketing (websites, fliers, catalogs, brochures, magazine inserts) ... can set up computer systems and networks ... understand efficient warehousing ... can engage in high level negotiations ... can create user friendly computer product codes ... can do blueprint take-off and spec writing ... within a few months my desk is piled with not only my job but also some 5-8 “Special Projects” from four or five managers and the owners ... who all want THEIR “Project” done FIRST (Yesterday) PLUS I have to remain the “best” at my original job and (because I do) be More Productive than the Other Purchasing Agents ... and, on top of that, I have some neat freak telling me to keep my work space neat and uncluttered. I start getting chewed out for not getting enough done even though I am one of those people who works well past closing time AND takes stuff home to work on well past 2 AM because I’ve become a dumping ground for projects because I can do them with very little guidance but ... When I go to talk to them about compensation, I am likely to get told told I’m not getting “enough” done ... and they’re NOT talking about the job I was hired to do. They act like they don’t understand that all these things are separate “jobs” ... they don’t understand the though or processes required because they’ve never done them ... many times can’t even conceive of them. Better yet, each of THEM is busily patting THEMSELVES on the back for “creating” the work I did. They act like I’m simply a “Plug n’ Play” device ... because I am ... I even enjoy it but I insisted on getting PAID Well for it ... and They couldn’t understand. That’s when I developed the “I can ‘fix’ your problem but it’s going to cost you X starting now”. system. The FIRST thing that does is make sure that They have to “clear” that raise with the Owners, They can’t simply take the credit, They can’t simply “dump” a Project on me without FIRST Acknowledging that I am doing something MORE than my basic job.

Bay0Wulf replies on Aug 27, 2019:
@ScottforKing Actually, while the British started that, the USA was guilty of the same (although China then wasn’t the China of today ... it was a bunch of Provinces very loosely strung together) In fact, the A&P Grocery Chain got its start by hauling Opium for Tea. Tea was in very great demand ... but the Chinese would not take money (because it was confiscated by the “Government” ) and they had little use for other Trade Goods but they loved Opium and that was the only thing they would trade tea for ... even though it was a death sentence to be caught at it. Opium relieved the people of the day to day grind and was used as an escape ... though also for medicinal purposes. I would note the Chinese never had any interest beyond smoking or sometimes eating the raw opium. Raw smoked opium is a rather pleasant and fragrant high ... extremely mellow ... and no-one died from its use. In the USA it ... or a derivative, was available to everyone as an “over the counter” remedy until the early 1900s and it wasn’t much of a problem. In the 60s you could walk into any pharmacy and buy cough syrup that was based on Codiene (an opiate) ... even as a kid. Truthfully, Opium and ... most ... opiates are not really a “problem” except where the government is concerned. The illegal, Higher potency versions are another story.

Having much of my family involved in caregiving ... MOST of the Home Health Care people, and a Large Percentage of Other Care Givers are Underpaid, Under Appreciated and Overworked. Truthfully, YOU won’t be determining what these people get paid. Your “insurance” or whatever passes for the “Payor” will pay as little as possible in your highly regulated Health Care System ... they’ll actually cause the “Lowest Common Denominator” to be hired for meager income. Trades People are much better off since they can simply refuse to work for less than an arbitrarily set wage. The better they are ... usually ... the better they get paid. “Carers”? Care Givers? At the end of the day ... the “competition” ... a Plumber ... a Welder ... a Hairdresser ... are what they are (although in this case they might have a fancy certificate or “trophy” ) and very few people outside their trade (or even inside) will care. The thing about the Trades is ... regardless of any schooling or training you might have taken ... when you enter a shop, no-one cares. The ONLY thing they care about is CAN you do the work as it comes at you? HOW WELL and QUICKLY can you get it done? This is actually Very Realistic and Good. At least, that has been what the colleges seemed to tell the students. Since the 50’s there has been a relentless push to “go to college” by parents, by high schools ... or else you’ll wind up a “ditch digger” ... there’s been an attitude among people who went to college that Tradesmen, Mechanics, Construction Personnel, Farmers are ALL part of the “Unwashed Masses” ... unless you did them as a form of “Art”. @ObiRonMoldy To be clear, Trump is not my “hero”. In fact, on a personal level, I never cared much for him one way or another. Before the Presidency, I attended some business (Construction/Building) gatherings that he was at as well. I’ve bid through the construction management firms he used on some of his jobs. “Liking” Him was not part of the business ... though I came to respect him. Neither is “Liking” any Government “Leader” ... or Politician ... My criteria is simple. The person WILL Try to do the things they “promise” or they Won’t ... I Agree with what they are trying to do or I Don’t. As long as the person elected honestly tries to do what they promised (providing I agree with it) then I don’t care about their methodology or style (as long as it’s reasonably legal). The more effectively they manage to do it, the less I am likely to have a problem with it. Regardless of whether you approve of his “style”, DJT is being more effective than I thought he would be ... I figured if he managed to get 15% of the things he promised to “try” done that would be a Good Job ... he’s done that and more. I voted for Trump ... as I voted for Perot ... because I have been disgusted and untrusting of “Politicians” since the mid 70s ... I would note that people talk about politicians from the standpoint of “experience” and “ability” and I find that laughable as most of them have NO “Experience” or “Ability” outside of being a politician ... meaning they are WORTHLESS for any “Real World” purpose. You say his tweets “hurt” people but ... I see his use of them as being extremely effective. Regardless of HOW Anyone goes about “fixing” the things that need “fixing” People are going to get “hurt”. Like remodeling a House ... Stuff has to be ripped out before it can be made “new”. The Nation ... People have largely benefitted from his actions ... including his tweets ... when the dust settles ... many of those people benefitted before and, in a two steps forward, one step back, manner have only been “hurt” in a percentage of the stuff they gained FIRST. 5 Decades of feckless, stupid and ineffective politicians being polite, bobblehead, diplomatic, smile-for-the-camera (and onlooking people) have resulted in a record of nothing but decline ... nothing but a worsening of National Standing and people’s life styles and finances. If you can find ONE ... point out ONE “nice” Politician that could even come close to being as effective, your argument would have some merit. Unfortunately, you are complaining and pissing and moaning about Trump while suggesting that there is a “Magical Being” out there somewhere who could do it better ... PRODUCE this “Magical Being”...

If you want to say Conservative/Liberal then I’m okay with that ... even though I consider much of the “Liberal” thought process to be sappy and drippy. I often admit that I like that they can be so ... innocent ... and I’ll fight for their right to exist undisturbed. Why do you think that Our Children are Deliberately being taught NOT to Think? If you CAN’T Think, you CAN’T dig through the Shiny BS to see the Garbage that lies underneath. Why do you think the Literacy Levels IN SCHOOLS is so low? Why do you think “Common Core” was created? Why do you think this “NEW MATH” exists? The main problem I have with Current Liberals and Democrats is that the “Left” that is, Socialists and Communists basically OWN those platforms and aggressively push their defunct ideals. That these people have accepted that platform is unfortunate ... is a disgrace ... is Detrimental to a properly operating Republic. @chuckpo I can’t see a “societal result” per se though I’ve known several people over time who could have produced great possibles but they got abortions instead. As to being overrepresented by the lower end of the class system is concerned, keep in mind that Sanger created PP specifically as a eugenics system designed cut back on the birth of negro children ... kind of chilling, that thought. However, when they say “lower classes” it seems to me they are talking about lower middle class and middle class ... abortions still cost something so the “lowest class” typically displays the “welfare baby” syndrome rather than resort to abortions. Unfortunately, from my viewpoint, the best genetic material is not reproducing for a variety of reasons ... mainly due to “having careers” and the negative pressure on being “just” a mother and housewife ... though the acceptance of “homosexuality” has a major impact as well ... which I won’t get into here ... It’s my view that the mediocre (at best) are “taking over the world” at least in places where Europeans have held sway ... though China did a great job of shooting itself in the foot genetically with their one kid program ... Even so, regardless of the race in question, the upper echelon everywhere genetically is being pushed to be more “productive” and dissuaded from losing time in child bearing and child rearing in order to essentially support the 75% of the world population that is ... genetically not capable of being the “geniuses”, the “driven” ... by volume there remain more than there were but percentagewise it seems that there’s a falling rate ... not to mention the deliberate dumbing down of students in many areas. Species that existed and prospered for hundreds of millions of years strictly through genetic superiority went extinct anyway ... we have only been a serious contender for a few hundred thousand years at the very most and we’re deliberately destroying ourselves for reasons that seem completely illogical but ... “politically correct” ...
PLANNED PARENTHOOD Decides it doesn’t need Taxpayer Funding after all.

I was on the fence about it for a long time, but the thing that trips me up is those who use it as a birth control method. There are so many readily available birth control options now that don't require killing a baby. Like everything else in this society, nobody wants to take any personal ...

My trip up is the Destruction of so much viable genetic material. Many people of high quality genes have a tendency to pursue a “career” ... a “life” ... and, via abortion, put that off until later ... later which often doesn’t arrive. We have a falling population while millions of potential people got D&C’d

No, that's not what planned Parenthood decided. They decided not to follow Trump's anti-Constitution rules.
Bay0Wulf replies on Aug 20, 2019:
Really? Where in the Constitution ... ANYWHERE ... does it say that Taxpayer Money should be given to ANY “For Profit” Organization or, in fact ANY Organization Whatsoever? Where in the Constitution ... ANYWHERE ... does it say that Taxpayers should be forced to pay for Genocide? Not sure where you got YOUR Concept of what the US Constitution or the Attached Bill of Rights or the Various Amendments from but, NOTHING ANYWHERE in those Documents disagrees with Trump ... not in the Slightest Way. Try digging out a complete copy and reading it thoroughly before making Obviously Stupid Statements. Maybe you’ll catch on to the idea we tend to have a pretty good idea of FACTS here. By the way ... since you’re new, welcome. Try to keep up though.
WHO NEEDS “RUSSIANS”?

Its considered free speech and well within their right to exercise it. The correct response to bad speech is good speech.

I’m not sure I agree ... I’m not sure ... legally ... what my objection might be ... but this goes far beyond a “free speech” issue. This is outright tampering ... I recognize my need to look at it more closely but I’m pretty sure there’s a way to legally prevent it. In fact, as I mull this over, I think that there’s precedence here ... There was a Law/Rule passed quite some time ago that REQUIRED TV Networks to provide “Equal Time” to the Parties ... the Candidates ... as TV was seen as a method to skew the voters’ awareness as so many people had become reliant on TV as a source of information. I believe that “Free Speech” was furiously touted at that time as well but the Courts determined that, as a Public Resource, TV was not simply an unbiased “provider of information. Again ... I’ll have to look into this but that was my first thought that seemed germane to the topic.

Hahaha, awesome. I would like to see a little more detail. Was there no left-leaning mainstream media that reported on any of those stories? Was it mentioned anywhere? It sounds like generalized narrative statement. If you've researched those points (msm didn't report it), then present what you ...

@chuckpo OAN.com usually streams longer versions but they’re really trying to get “Cable” and Streaming TV Providers to pick them up so they don’t put “full” episodes up. They seek to be like CNN was but ... being 24hr NEWS is hard ... so they do have several “opinion” shows sprinkled in.

Actually I do as well ... perhaps a mite overly sarcastic when referring to other “news” outlets but ... even that’s understandable.

Actually, in the newscast she/they tend to cover things in more “depth” ... that’s just the summary at the end of the show. OAN tries to leave opinion out of their stories ... although they don’t try to muzzle their distain or sarcasm in reference to other “news” outlets. I can’t be sure that there was “no” coverage in regular media because I cut loose regular TV quite awhile ago but, on the Left Leaning sites I do look at, there was none or almost none. On the other hand, LL sites would have imposed their own slant on it if it were “reported” so ... if they present a heavily slanted version, was it, in fact, “covered? I didn’t really post it based on a lack of coverage by the media so much as to ensure that folks here got a chance to hear about things that might have escaped their “attention” ... it’s not like there’s not lots of other stuff to obscure these things.

@WilyRickWiles That’s okay too ... though it would be better if you simply disagreed because your response seems to indicate that mine was too convoluted ... but I’m not going to edit it ... @purdyday The CCCP regularly “creates” new rules, laws and regulations and publishes them to the people and the people are required to obey from that moment on ... Remember, like people from any closed Totalitarian country, (N. Korea, China, USSR, etc) the people are extremely limited in what they are allowed to hear, read or watch. Their ENTIRE thought process is “given” to them by the State. They have nothing to look at for Comparison.

@WilyRickWiles If you believe that the “deeper truth” is simply “their biases” then you have a problem understanding basic information. I’d guess you’re a bit biased yourself ... not to mention “slow”. Schwartz now disavows “truthful hyperbole”? I bet he disavowed it all the way to the bank. Now he calls it deceit? What’d he do become a prudish “born again” Jew? Basics ... if you want to get ANYTHING done with a group or crowd of people ... you HAVE to appeal to Their Best Interests ... and, in a group, EVERYBODY is going to have Their Own Idea of what THEIR “Best Interest” is ... “Truthful Hyperbole” is showing the audience the “Target” ... that there IS a “Target” ... and letting THEM assume you mean Just the Bull’s Eye ... because EVERYBODY will have a different idea of what the Bull’s Eye IS ...
