@Starlight If you’re speaking of stone rows ... no. A farmer had more important things to do than screw around with the rocks ... they simply chucked them onto the pile. Note that I didn’t say “stone wall” ... I build stone walls ... there’s actually a difference. When a glacier pushes stones in front of it and them leaves a pile when it retreats, does it “create a wall”? When a guy on a bulldozer pushes a bunch of stones out of the way in a long line of offal, do they “create a wall”? I simply have to ask; Are you trying to make some sort of weird philosophical point or simply pontificating on some particularly stupid question?

Bay0Wulf replies on Jun 24, 2020:
@govols Well, throughout most of the northeastern USA all throughout the woods and many other places there are big, long “piles” of rocks ... also sometimes called “stonerows” and are often useful as a place to get material from for building. These stonerows served a couple purposes but, were only incidental. As farmers plowed their fields in the springtime they would often come up against rocks ... stones ... that had been pushed up from below. They would then pick up the rock and remove it from their field ... usually to the nearest edge of the field. Over time, these rows got to be quite big ... you’d be surprised how many stones “float” to the surface. These rows then became solid “edges” to a field ... often becoming a definite border to one’s “property” or “holding” since most farmers worked their property right to its edge. Most of those old farms and fields are gone now but you can “see” the actual layout of a “farm” by walking these rows through the woods ... its amazing to realize that all of what is now woodland was once under intensive agriculture ... often times property deeds lay out current property lines right along these stone rows. These days surveying is done via GPS but its startling to see how “dead on” these old rows still are. So ... there’s a “pile” of unstructured rock which has served a purpose for some 300 years or often more ...

Otherwise, I can’t think of a single positive usage. Some people have suggested its a “Punch” but every use of Slug or Slugger in terms of a “punch” is basically negative ... usually a “Low” or unforeseen punch delivered to someone who is either unsuspecting or unable to defend themselves. The only other usage I can think of thats “positive” is not “slug” but “slugger” used to describe a major hitter in baseball.

Bay0Wulf replies on Jun 24, 2020:
@govols A “pile of rocks” has no “structure” it is simply a “pile” ... further, it rarely serves a “purpose”. A “work of art that serves as a wall” (?) You could really mean almost any wall that includes artwork from Ninevah’s Gate (some 3500 yrs old) to the Fresco found Midas’ Palace in Knosos/Crete (some 2500 years old) to the “Freedom to Write” graffitied Riverside Drive Stonework on the West Side of Manhattan ... these all imparted a “message” imposed on the underlying structure. Or, are you referring to stonework carefully placed to create an “image” with or without regard to structural integrity of the structure itself. “An Intentional Wall That Will Stand ...” Its a structure designed to serve a purpose. Its primary importance and difference is that, where it may be also decorative, it remains a structure that can be relied upon for hundreds, thousands of years. Personally I like to do esthetically pleasing structural work ... not to say I always have that choice. I like going past work I’ve done and seeing it “fit” ... endure ... become “part” of the landscape. I did a copper roof for a College Amphitheatre in the Caribbean 40+ years ago ... It is kind if a charge to look it up in a Satellite Picture and see that roof gone verdigris looking even more beautiful than the day I finished it ...

Theres no way someone coming from the British Isles or Wales specifically, had a “Special Recipe” that involved or included Corn (maize) in the “recipe” sorry but it wasn’t a major grain there. Bay0Wulf replies on Jun 10, 2020:
@Serg97 Okay ... so I did some quick history research and research research on the .40. One of the primary aspects of the .40 seems to be capacity and better knockdown than the 9 and higher velocity than the .45 and it tends to make up for the lack of performance of “standard” quality brass. I wasn’t a fan of the 9 particularly but I find that as a single stack its light, slim and small ... in fact almost too small for my hand but it provides the performance I expect to need and its more accurate at a longer range than the .45 Let me say that I honestly don’t intend to get into shootouts requiring more than 2-3 rounds so an 8 clip loaded to 6 is my standard for a 9. The .45 is a much better knockdown but a bit much for wandering around with ... I also don’t intend to get into extended firefights with it so again, a single stack either is enough or I’m screwed ... but I tend to hit what I target so... As to brass ... my home and carry loads are only high quality bonded rounds ... target stuff I’m into performance as far as firing, clearing, cleanliness and accuracy but its not the stuff I leave in it. If someone gave me a .40 and I got to spend the time with it to get comfortable with it I might develop a different opinion but ... feeding the units I have with fairly regular practice time is costly enough

I’m waiting for them to jump in. Interestingly so far after ALL Their Bullshit and MILLIONS of Dollars and EVERY Biased Dimwit and Bimbo they could produce, they managed to produce NOTHING. Not One SINGLE Anything.

Bay0Wulf replies on Jun 9, 2020:
@Jarnhann Okay ... yeah, the first time I read your response I thought it was 12G (“buck” ) but it didn’t really fit in a conversation about “carry weapons” so I had to think all it could mean was a variant of a Mauser. As long gun for short range defense I have a 12Ga 870SM hanging on the wall by my door but I’d really rather not use it in the house because the cleanup and repair would be too much of a chore. I’ve a couple other long guns as well though they’re actually more about hunting than “defense”. The 12Ga is kind of dual purpose because it goes out hunting as well and hopefully thats all it will ever be called upon to do ... where I live it is unlikely I’ll have to turn it on a person ... a bear is quite a bit more likely. A .50 ... well, that’s a pretty brutal piece ... I spent some time with a friend’s and it was impressive maybe but I can’t really see it as a “go to” for much of anything ... its too big to conceal and its hard to keep it on target and its awful heavy for “whipping it around” ... or even lugging around for that matter and yeah, the brass is a bit out there. If I could afford ... and afford to feed ... a .50, I would love to own a Barrett M82 ... kind of my dream ideal of a “Long Gun” ... for hunting ... of course

G12 ... as in a Mauser Type Frame? .308 ... Either of these is a bit too ... esoteric ... for carry purposes as far as I’m concerned. The .308 isn’t actually a “pistol” usually as much as a rifle round. Ive fired a Mauser in the past ... the round was lighter but I didn’t care for the balance as it was too front heavy.

I was never big on .40 but then, it really took quite awhile to get cozy with a 9. My first was a .38 snub that my Mom passed down to me at 12 ... it couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn but at 12 it was impressive. My first love was an M1911.45 that belonged to my father’s friend ... after I got off the ground from getting smacked between the eyes by the recoil at 13. M1911 .45 is still one of my favorites.

My guess is the adrenaline pumping on top of the Fentanyl and MethAmphetamine coupled with the “Fight or Flight” reaction caused the guy”s heart to give out. A couple points that I have made repeatedly are; We have no footage leading up to the take down. It took FOUR men to restrain him as he was obviously resisting arrest The guy worked as a “Bouncer” ...Being that he was 6’3” and about 228 he was no “Harmless Child” The footage we DO see may look bad but I’m not sure I support the contention that the officers acted incorrectly. Well, while your first two sentences seem to be “True”, the concept of “Free” is relative isn’t it? If Someone Hands You $100,000 and You DON’T Ever have to Pay It Back ... its “Free” to You.
