There are some psychologists who have noticed the shift in IQ toward the higher end, compared to the standards established decades ago, and high IQ correlates with autism. In addition, the improving diagnosis effect often changes the perceived number of cases. Much better explanations than vaccines. Good studies on the effect of vaccines, have cleared this up some time ago.

@cRaZyTMG. No, it wasn't engineered. If you know any geneticists, as do I, you can ask them. They will tell you that the gene sequence has none of the markers that must be present to splice the gene, and every expected forensic path for the gene to have followed a path a great deal of time ago through bats and far more recently pangolin. Those who don't know this can easily assert without proof that it is engineered, but they are wrong.

@Hanno. There is a difference between religion and faith. The first is a human institution, and subject to all the fallibilities of corporations, clubs, and governments. The second is a relationship between a person and God. Theologians of all faiths who have studied faiths almost all come to the conclusion that Jesus Christ died and was resurrected. Most have become Christians as a result. To lump all faiths as equivalent is to have not studied faiths. The devil is in the details; sorry for the pun. Those details are that no faith except one has a mechanism that transcends our reality into a reality suggested even by physicists. If one dares to investigate, one might be surprised. As an engineer and a skeptic myself, I am among the persuaded. Schroedinger's "father" Heisenberg himself, said "The universe is not only stranger than we think. It is stranger than we CAN think."

Aieuuuuu? The takeaway from this should be that there are 9 times as many infected and asymptomatic than shown in the data. This does not make Pelosi right. And it makes the mortality as low or lower than the flu, and all of the shutdown an overreaction. Still unavoidable because the public ALLOWED the media to panic them, giving leadership no choice. The media did this because at record low levels of public trust, they were all bleeding red and desperately needed a sensational event to recover historically low advertising dollars, or go out of business. So they did their very best to terrify the public, as if their lives depended on it - because it did. We should all turn off every source of conventional media if we want to take our lives back by canceling our cable, satellite, New York Times, WaPo, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and yes, even Fox. Go to Breitbart, Reason, Epoch Times... you get the idea.

@beekeeper, sorry, I flat disagree that social distancing was ever going to be effective in the US. Doing the math on the Ro of the virus, shows that it hit a billion people in 20 days around the World. "Experts" know this. Sweden never instituted social distancing and has 286 COVID-19 deaths. It means that virtually everyone in the US was exposed by the time we started social distancing. 99% of deaths from COVID-19 are people of ANY age with PRE-EXISTING conditions like smokers, cardiovascular disease, cancer, tuberculosis... We all have a greater chance of getting killed driving for toilet paper than dying of COVID-19 if we are not among that group. It is the 2019 cold virus, not dissimilar to all other cold viruses, except it is the first time through the human population, which is typically a bit more virulent than after herd immunity is established. You can find all this in the medical literature, and you will find almost none of it in the media or history.com.

The Chinese are practicing the Art Of War principles, but not very well - in part because AOW requires single point leadership, not "collective" leadership, but which also empowers those in the field to act expeditiously. The Art Of War is taught at West Point, the Naval College and at most military establishments in the US. The US employed AOW principles in WWII by having strong point leadership, which empowered squad leaders to make decisions in the field without direct oversight, making them far more effective than German squads who could not make any decisions without an officer's approval. And much like China, officers were often weakened by fear of the collective. However, it is too bad the Chinese leadership is more familiar with its principles than American leadership.

TimTuolomne replies on Apr 20, 2020:
@dmatic, We see Scripture differently I guess. Inevitable I suppose. I am no theological scholar, and I am surely wrong about this in some way. It is my understanding that the Old Testament was before the New Covenant. Before the New Covenant, God punished the wicked, and defeated the enemies of Israel; the "stick." In the New Covenant, Jesus took the punishment for all of us, therefore ALL of our transgressions were forgiven forever; the "carrot." That was the end of the God of retribution. But no one is REQUIRED to accept that forgiveness, nor the belief in the resurrection that makes it possible. Not believing makes that forgiveness unavailable. That is a critical difference. Those who don't believe, are still able to harm others without restraint. That and the fact that it is a dangerous World, are the cause of heartbreak on Earth, not God. But without their repentance, those who do harm are in grave danger of eternal separation from God, and from His protection.

TimTuolomne replies on Apr 20, 2020:
@dmatic. This theme can be found throughout Scripture, not as a dogma captured in any single phrase. Rather as the idea that if you choose to believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, you are saved. If you do not, you are not saved; but not as punishment per se. Rather as a free choice which has consequences you have chosen. There is no punishment here on Earth. And God honors your free will to turn away from Him by placing you away from Him in eternity. For example, Ezekiel 18:30-32: 30 “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. 31 Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? 32 For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live! By "die" Ezekiel is referring to the disconnection from God. In other places in Scripture this disconnection is referred to as a fate worse than death, so death is preferable. “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.” - C.S. Lewis

@ScottforKing. There are some problems that no government based on Liberty can fix, no matter how much we might feel it should. Tyranny is very good at keeping order, but very poor at feeding its masses, and dismal at respecting the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Throwing out a system because it can't fix the unfixable is not very intelligent. And the Left in the US is willing to throw sand in the gears at every opportunity to prove that the Constitution doesn't work. How much of the problems that you feel should be fixed lay at their feet? There have been arguably 100 million people killed that way throughout history. Is that a problem with the Constitution? No. It is a problem with a people grown ignorant of its value.

I watched that “Event”. Too bad some governments and most media outlets didn’t. The outcomes could have been improved. But then again, with truth and facts being censored and held back at the beginning in November and December, would one expect things to be much different?

Yup. We found out way too late to change anything.
