Anon has been misused, horribly, and worse by bots. JP has that right. But, we need to keep in mind the power the commie trash wields. E.g., PayPal can fine you if what you say anywhere on the WWW is not liked by them. Patreon can ban you if you speak out freely -- if your "free speech" is not what they approve. So, there is a serious, life threatening risk to speaking freely, even if supposedly capitalist orgs are after you. This is when anon is valuable. It is also kinda parallel to how elections are held, and for the same reason. No easy solution.

Only once it is returned to honest. In the US there is a classification called 230. It is kind of a protection for WWW "startups" (yeah, startups) until they get on their feet financially. Giving FBook, Twitter, etc this protection allows them to act as editors of content -- which they have corrupted into a means to censor. Strip them of 230 protection, and then step away.

Absentee ballots are not the same as mailin. With the former you have to write in and request, and provide identification. With the latter, they just get mailed. Fro example, mailin are mandated out here in CaCaLand. And, I now have two -- in different variations of my middle name. I've only ever registered once, and that 35+ years ago. Mailin is a corrupt process intended and designed to commit fraud. Absentee is for folks capable of planning when they can't be around for actual voting.
