The technology for nuclear reactors is not militarily sensitive. The concern is security. Reactors exist that can't melt down, even if Homer Simpson is operating it. They also don't overheat even if the cooling system is destroyed. These are called TRIGA reactors, and there are a thousand of them at American universities, as research reactors and neutron sources. Wind and Solar can't get it done. We should be expanding biomass and nuclear.

The SR-72 will have to do something special to take the heat. A turbofan tops out at Mach 3. The Blackbird engine is a hybrid turbofan plus ramjet. A ramjet tops out at Mach 5. Above this, you need a hypersonic scramjet. The new SR-72 has a hypersonic engine. The plane in the film "Firefox" is based on the Foxbat, which can reach Mach 2.8. The first time we saw it, it was moving at Mach 3.1, and American engineers were in awe at the speed. It turns out that the Soviets flew the engine in overdrive mode to reach Mach 3.1, and that the flight destroyed the engine. We didn't know this at the time. Stealth materials can't take the heat of Mach 6. Plus, a plane moving at Mach 6 is extremely hot and bright. Ramjet missiles can reach Mach 5. It would be nice to have a Mach 6 plane.
