The police in the UK have been given emergency powers to detain and quarantine people suspected of having the Coronavirus. This is obviously necessary but I wonder whether in our politically correct society records will have to be kept of the colour/ethnicity of those detained. It is inevitable that the race baiting press and pressure groups will be setting out to prove that if the figures show that proportionally more of a certain group have been detained then the police are racist. Unfortunately the politicians don’t have a good record on protecting the police etc and are more keen to cover their own backs and this has led the police to turn a blind eye on certain groups committing serious crimes rather than have to face investigation after ‘racism‘ accusations. This can lead to what is virtually a quota system of arrests just to balance the books and if this happens some infected individuals will be left to wander the streets because too many of their colour/ethnicity have already been detained. I watch with interest.

Every cop and cruiser should have video monitoring now more than ever.

I don't see this as a change in policing policy and practice in GB - not at all.
Just ask Tommy Robinson and some other citizens of GB.
The cops there can and often do arrest and detain people for any reason they can dream up.
From what I have seen lately (over the last 5 years or so) in Canada I believe the RCMP does the very same thing. That is to say they summarily arrest, detain, interrogate and threaten citizens with no real justification for doing so.

I fear here in USA we are fairly close to experiencing the same.
