As a registered Unaffiliated voter, I’d be interested to see how the GOP would resurrect itself. Hawley’s basics sound good, of course, but it might be like calling for a constitutional convention—be careful what you wish for; you might just get it.
It’s pretty obvious the Democrats would never suggest this for their party.
But, alas, I don’t expect much to come from this.

Sadly I concur, the GOP is not what it used to be, from Republican politicians supporting red flag and other various gun control laws to supporting increased Government spending etc, it is time for a serious overhaul.

I know I'll catch some serious flak from the GOP faithful for suggesting this, but Libertarian Party anyone?? Or how's about embracing General George Washington's view on the matter, and go independent?

@Garsco You're right about that, too high a concept for most to go with a third Party candidate at present time. Perhaps years down the road that may change though.

There are only two problems with politics in the US, Democrats and Republicans. That said, if the GOP can clean house and the disaffected Dems who have left the party would form a new liberal party then there may be hope. As it is, Democrats empower those people who don't care about issues that matter to casts votes they know nothing about for the purpose of perpetuating their grip on power and the establishment Republicans enable them.

I don't agree with much of that. True Republicans intend to defend the Constitution. The Constitution limits power, so true Republicans are not motivated by power.

Decievers, both RINOs and Democrats, are principally Leftists, motivated by power. So they are interested only in destroying the Constitution, because it limits their power, and they must be deceptive about this or lose office, so they must slander Republicans. They have 157 years of practice so they are good at it, and the public mostly buys it. So that group is not, has never been and can not ever be constructive to our Constitutional Representative Republic. They are simply the unconvicted treasonous.

Looking at the history of the parties (not the propaganda versions on CNN or the New York Times) reveals this. And looking at their platforms, actual record of bills, what they contain and what they actually do versus what they claim they are, reveals the truth today. It is not that difficult to look up...at least for now. 9 out of 10 people I know have never done this, nor read the Constitution, and don't have any idea why it is unique in the World.

That group of Leftists must be replaced with an opposition to the Republican Party that is LOYAL TO THE CONSTITUTION - perhaps more of an original Constitutional version, more Libertarian, leaving the Republican party to be what it is today, a more progressive version of Republicanism than Lincoln founded.

That will happen naturally if the public is informed of all of this. More than half of the public, I believe, are significantly unaware of the truth.

@TimTuolomne What's unfortunate is that true Republicans are not currently running the GOP. Instead the party is in the hands of megalomaniacal narcissists like McConnell, McCarthy and McDaniel. These people gladly undermine the Constitution of the United States, sell out the true Republicans and perpetuate their big government power.

@TimTuolomne I agree with most of what you say, however, it's easier said than done. We may all have to succumb to the fires of stupidity and as always be aware when it is time for the Phoenix to raise out of the ashes.

One reason the Dems are afraid of a Convention of States is that they are not practiced at stealing a convention vote, as they are at the ballot box.

Both my siblings over there are registered Republicans. One has already been harrassed by the IRS early this year.

You don't replace the GOP. You kick out the stealth RINOs and gimme gimme gimme Republicans.

Replacing the Democrats should be the call. But in our Representative Republic, the key to that is informing the voters; bringing them up to speed on the entire history of the Democrat Party, before the Democrat attempts to erase and rewrite it against Republicans are completed - as mostly they already are.
