The Cargo Ship Crisis is Manufactured - Creating Supply Chain Nightmare -
I found this useful more for the visual, the dock facilities are working at a snail's pace.

This is not a surge in consumer demand. This is an intentional slow down at the ports. Is trucking and lack of drivers that bad? Or are they setting up demand for driverless trucks, AI and Robotics? Would that not also destroy the human trucking industry. Are we all being set up.

The goal is surely to crush small businesses.

Supplies to big businesses are likely not delayed.

Its all about control. I hadn't really noted the small business connection, however I suspect it also has to do with "fear factor" and creating a "new norm" at a much lower standard of living.

@toronto_Georgia @warminster100 @marmmaadd

Yes it looks like a new norm. Civilization is collapsing in every category. Inflation has officially begun.

Rurals should find a way to direct the damage at the cities. Cities are precarious. Rural territory is economically robust.

In Asimov's "Foundation" novels, civilization had to collapse before it could be rebuilt.

America's golden age has ended an it is now in a dark age. Democrats act like conquistadors and the Spanish Inquisition. Scientism and superstition are embraced.

During the Obama administration, GDP growth was 2 percent/year, which is feeble. Economists claimed that this was the new normal. Then Trump took office and the GDP grew bigly.

California is incapable of building infrastructure. It still doesn't have a commuter rail connecting LA and SF. They can't build a new bridge or dam.
Yet they want 3.5 trillion for infrastructure.

During the Trump administration, Trump cut off funding to the Cal railroad, citing the fact that they were way overbudget and hadn't yet built much.

Democrats tried and failed to build a skating rink in Central Park. In desperation they turned to Trump, who got it done under budget and ahead of schedule. Trump called a Canadian rink expert.

@jaymaron Sadly, Dems have little to no business acumen ergo the LA - SF transit issue. I'm wondering if gaining business acumen is a conduit to the move towards conservative views LOL. The downfall of the US into a new Dark Age is directly attributable to the leftist movement. In my mind it is like a disease infesting all of our institutions with a total inability to "look in the mirror" and reflect on what does not work. The Fall of Rome is very close to being a fete a complie.

@jaymaron weak/strong meme is apropos.

@toronto_Georgia

How bad do things have to get before leftists cave and go conservative?

@jaymaron I would suspect much deeper and worse than we are willing to tolerate, after all math is a white construct and despised by the Left as inequitable.

A Chimese restaurant told me that he is not buying specialty foods from china as container costs have risen from $4,000 to $20,000. Who owns these containers?

Evergreen seems to dominate as far as ships. As to actual cargo containers that seems to be more diverse.

Interesting to see what is happening to our supply chain. We certainly feel it here in Alaska especially when they closed Canada down for such an extended period of time. We had problems before Covid and so this whole mess just made things worse.
