I am a product of the 60’s and 70’s; the “be home when the street lights come on” generation that played outside all day that settled disagreements with fists, not knives and guns. Win or lose you either earned, or gained respect, but you didn’t die. The Era of Muscle Cars, mini-skirts, and the best rock and roll ever. A time of social upheaval. A time of Viet Nam, Students for a Democratic Society, MLK, The Black Panthers, sit-ins, and Woodstock. A time of unrest. A time of change.
I am a Christian, a Marine, and I love my country, right, wrong or indifferent. Who among nations is perfect? There are no perfect nations, but this one is the best to ever grace this planet we call Earth. The oath I took in 1974 is STILL an oath in 2019, to preserve, protect and defend The Constitution of these United States from all enemies, foreign, or domestic. An oath is an oath forever.
Things I despise: Abortion, people that do not vote, people that do not care, politicians, child molesters, judges who legislate from the bench, people that constantly refer to America as being a democracy when we are a republic, hypocrites, welfare, as it only destroys the family unit, income taxes, people that abuse the elderly or children, regulations, which are not laws, but carry the force of law (i.e. the EPA), Socialism, Communism, Sanctuary cities, the Global Warming lies, and “The Silent Majority” whom I call cowards. To be sure, this is a partial list, but you get the idea.
Things I love: Jesus, Family, The United States Marine Corps and all branches of the United States military, The Constitution, Louis L’amour westerns, Good Science Fiction, a civil, intense argument/debate, sunrises, sunsets, a good margarita, and thunderstorms, to name a few.
One of my favorite quotes: “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.” Benjamin Franklin
