I can't agree that Facebook has it right. Their degree of censorship is extremely high "friction," that definitely limits free speech.
SupraLibrix replies on Mar 31, 2020:
In that mechanical aspect they do. You are right, the culture is corrupt, but the platform is close to perfect.
Free Speech is worthless speech. How do you define quality?
TimTuolomne comments on Mar 31, 2020:
Free speech is actually priceless.
SupraLibrix replies on Mar 31, 2020:
@TimTuolomne OK, so you determine that quality exists. If you are a pornographer, you value free speech as much as Thomas Jefferson. Should it be censored?

@TimTuolomne low quality. I would say noise to signal ratio renders it meaningless. This is a philosophical question, right? What is quality? What is good? What is truth?

Maybe the originator deleted the post? I have done that to some of my own posts, that some might have found reasonable, but about which in retrospect I was uncomfortable.
SupraLibrix replies on Mar 31, 2020:
@Lt-JW When you get right down to it, you can't prove why anyone does anything. You are free to create your own group. I don't know all the guardrails, but I assume any idea that isn't overtly, physically threatening to others is welcome. Put something up that is original and thought provoking, you'll get thoughtful answers, I'm sure.

I don't belong to any party or affiliate with any organization. I base my ideology off of the Constitution. Pretty easy to defend my position. I don't suppose I for what you are looking for. Only sheep would just blindly follow anyone
SupraLibrix replies on Mar 31, 2020:
The constitution was created to be changed. I assume you don't follow it blindly. That is not a tenable position.

@CuriousFury I was not blessed with natural ability to draw, do you have an online repository of your art? I'm genuinely curious.
How can you prove that free will exists?
TimTuolomne comments on Mar 31, 2020:
"I think, therefore I am." - Rene Descartes. Not exactly a proof, however philosophers have been debating that question from the beginning. There is no definitive proof as far as I know.
SupraLibrix replies on Mar 31, 2020:
@TimTuolomne It's based on Influence. So yes, power. That can be in the form of a raised eyebrow (physics), remembering what your dad used to say (philosophy) and how that influences you to change your thoughts and actions (Physix). It's purposefully vague because everyone is influenced differently. But once you know WHAT influences you, you can predict behavior according to how that influence is referenced. Please continue, no interpretation of being difficult, very appreciated.

Descartes was only half right. To think without doing may mean existence, but irrelevant. He had to write what he thought down before anyone could contemplate it.

Faith without works is just imaginary, death in the eternal sense, I suppose. This is a work in progress, I'd love input.

@TimTuolomne I submit that faking is a psychological phenomenon. Plenty of people fake it to get along with their family, etc. Some fake it then are discovered as frauds shaking the faith of those who took them seriously. If God determines that faking but being a better person that one who doesn't is a disqualifier, isn't that contradictory to a just god?

@TimTuolomne Great introspection, appreciated. I consider myself agnostic, to be atheist is to be limited. The way I see it, whether God exists or not is irrelevant to a morality. You don't need a higher power to know how to act with your fellow man. If you don't believe in God, fine. Just act like you do.
