Can anyone point me to a reputable source discussing the 3 stages of Jihad?
All I've see is content from sources that have a clear political motivation.
Is this an established phenomenon that has occurred throughout history, and is there any consensus that today, in 2019, there exists a global Islamic conspiracy to inflict Jihad in stages?
No conspiracy sites, please. I'd prefer something academic or with lots of supporting evidence and cross references.

Stages and appropriate response?
Stage 0 and 1 - Clueless/Secret Jihad - Education about real Islam - Islam's heroes on 9/11 were the ones who murdered thousands of innocents
Stage 2 - Defensive Jihad - Education with zero tolerance for criminal behavior. Muslim criminals are to be reported as muslims.
Stage 3 - Offensive Jihad - Crusade, the just war, Iraq, ISIS, Afghanistan, Laden swimming with fishes
