Watching him say that, it was probably meant to be a joke. However, jokes tend to get laughs if there's sense that there may be a little bit of seriousness to them while playing it off as a joke. Using a line (misquoted) from an old movie that much of the audience (including the student he insulted jokingly), may not have been the best way to handle the situation. The Dems claim Pres Trump isn't "presidential" enough to be president, but this is their choice? Hmmmm
