“How #MeToo Failed”

Because there are good parts of that movement... until it went in the wrong direction .

I've watched a couple of your videos now and it is sad what is happening to the left today, isn't it?
I see you refuse to "walkaway" though. It's like you're seeing sh*t but you're ignoring it and want to just keep on stepping in it. This is a type of self-flagellation.
Take a step back and notice that the politicians of today both left and right in our western democracies no longer cater to the individual. The individual is one vote. The group is a voting block. It is more effective to cater to a voting bloc. The left, being more creative than the right, create groups by defining and labeling them. In order to be a member of one of these groups you have to wear the label. Something interesting about the labels are that the ones from the left are "victim" labels. Feminists, LGBTQ, Religious minorities, the poor, the aged, the sick, minority races, illegal migrants....well you get the picture. The Democrats are a big tent though and everyone is welcome...there could be just one big tent city. don't ever try and throw off that victim label though or you will lose all your friends. Labels on the right are all oppressor labels. White supremacist, homophobic, zenophobic, Islamophobic, Nazi. They are all the same.
It's called identity politics and is a tool of cultural marxism. It's sort of a natural progression once the individual is forgotten.

The Democrats though are making a bit of a mistake in thinking that these victim groups are not antithetical to each other. Bring them into proximity with each other and they will clash. There is not enough cohesion under the big tent to oppose the greater evil they face from their boogey man oppressors.

The #metoo movement is a splinter and an attack arm of the feminist movement that could, if necessary, be sacrificed so that feminism, as an identified state sanctioned victim group simply desiring equality, could be sustained and proven right. Sort of like Black Lives Matters extends itself from racism. We'll push this thing as far as we can and if need be let it die and we'll still be able to retreat to our state sanctioned victim status identity of racism.

So quit reverting to wearing the victim label.

Thank you for your response and for watching! Notably I’m not ignoring anything - on the contrary, I’m calling it out. I simply contend that one doesn’t have to be a conservative to do so.

@JulietteFrette You refuse the label. Don't worry others (your bestest friends) will apply it for you, you deplorable, homophobe, Islamophobe, misogynist, white supremacist nazi. How dare you find any fault with the only progressive, caring, sharing, anti-hate speech, anti-violent, anti-fascist movement.

Thanks for calling out the cultural marxism by the way. It means, in my view, you have retained some semblance of self which takes some fortitude in today's socio/political climate.

How about #respectme? and for the record all violence is vile and should be squashed.

I'd argue the abuse of #metoo has done much harm to women in business.

Over my career I've managed 100's of people as a line manager for everything from tech workers to heavy machine mechanics. Other than a team of 4 women (data entry techs) every group I managed had more men than women and I'm willing to make this generalization - women are less accepted by their female counterparts than they are their male counterparts. I did have one guy that refused to work with a woman and I let him go. EVERY other interpersonal issue I had to deal with was woman on woman. I had to break up physical altercations between men several times but after disciplining the participants for fighting (in one case termination) the issues went away. The women stuff involved issues that I could not discipline for and dragged on for months.
She took my xyz without asking!
She isn't doing enough or not fast enough or not the way I would do it BS.
I did have one lady quit because the "clique" was so mean to her. Not violence but just "mean girl" crap.
I mentored several women over the years which sometimes included one on one sessions that were lets just say "high in emotional" content. Newer (Younger?) managers refuse to mentor women and even when they do, a one on one sessions would be highly unlikely. I know organizations that require at least two people present for performance reviews.

Lots of high potential employees are losing out.

Yes the abuse of metoo might have damaged women more than men. And that said, some of the biggest issues I’ve had at work are with mean women 😟
#WomenOnWomenCrime?!

With a name like POUND Me Too - yeah ISSUE.

I have to agree with the sentiment of the tag - there ARE good parts to it - it should be unacceptable to harm another - but the cringey way the fringe took it over (and willingly ignored the actions of some people while vilifying others for literally no action) was just disgusting.
