I am not sure if I have this quote right but, it reminds me of how those on the Politically Right and Left hate the other side without any self awareness. Typically the thing you hate about others is something you hate about yourself. You get obsessed with your enemy you eventually become like them justifying your own evil. "Stare into the abyss and the abyss stares back." But, I am not sure where that originated. Does anyone know the context?
LOL... you are kidding right?
@Skkaarj I was referring to the quote you mentioned.
BTW there are trolls and people with closed minds on the Right and Left as well as the Conservative and Progressive sides of politics... that would be 4 sides not 2. You can be Left or Right and a Progressive or a Conservative LWP LWC RWP RWC
Most people I know are very even handed and not fringe dwellers or trolls.
I think that was Nietzsche, talking about obsessing over that which you oppose to the point that it's all you are about.
e.g., People who spend all their time trying to dig up contrived examples of White racism... have become nothing more than anti-White racists in the process. They start with a reasonable concern, and just go off the rails by letting it consume them; and ultimately define them.
"Typically the thing you hate about others is something you hate about yourself." From where did you dig up such a stupid idea?
