Just a question. Where in the constitution does it mention "separation of church and state"?
Answer: it doesn't.
Being that they just fled a religiously oppressive monarchy, they did write protection of the church, from the state into the first ammendment. But the colloquial phrase "separation of church and state' was coined in the federalist papers by Jefferson I believe.
Anyway, the state has no right to pass laws or regulations even in regards to an establishment of religion. A church, on the other hand, has the same right as any other individual or organisation to influence government.

The Constitution doesn't explicitly say "separation of church and state". You are correct. Do you know what else isn't actually found in the Constitution? Guns. AR-15s. Bullets. God. Jesus. Christianity. Etc etc.
Alito, in his opinion overturning Roe, cited a 17th-century judge named Matthew Hale (a man who allowed husbands to rape their wives and also presided over witch trials) as someone who opposed abortion in the beginnings of America, and said that the right to an abortion was not deeply rooted in the founding / history / tradition of America.
We also see people say that in the 2nd Amendment the term "arms" was meant to be all sorts of weapons, and they intended for people to have high powered semi-auto weapons in the future.
Well if that is how things are decided, we can then use the vast opinions of our founders to show that they did indeed want a separation of church and state - the term being pulled from one of those founders stating his intention for the First Amendment. Historical context, no?
The SCOTUS has affirmed time and time again this separation. It is why churches cannot engage in political activity without losing tax exempt status. Though with the way this theocratic Catholic court is currently running things, I wouldn't be surprised if we have full on theocracy in a few years.
Yes, the state has no right to pass an establishment of religion. That means it must be neutral. It cannot favor Christianity at the expense of Satanism, or vice versa. It cannot favor religion over irreligion, and vice versa.
However, none of that matters in context of this discussion. Yes, a church can advocate for certain things - such as asking the government to ban abortion, or keep marriage between a man and a woman, or legalize peyote. But that isn't what Boebert is saying here. She isn't saying she thinks the church should be allowed to participate without losing tax-exempt status. She isn't saying she thinks the church is too constrained by the government and needs less restriction. She is quite literally saying "the church is supposed to direct the government". She wants "the church" to run the government and tell them how to operate. What church is a question that then needs to be asked - Catholic? Pentecostal? Baptist? Seventh Day Adventist? Who makes the rules?
Wow, that's scary, since as a junior congresswoman, she controls so much of the federal government, eh?
