“What’s the first thing Castro did when he came to power in Cuba? He started a literacy program. That sounds like a good thing to me.”

So says Bernie who has finally, and for all time, revealed the true nature of the mental disorder at the heart of the left: they really bought the bullshit.

Every one of them, from Lincoln Steffens’ “I’ve seen the future, and it works,” after his 1919 visit to the new Soviet Union; to the New York Times’ apologies for the regime in the 30’s, while 20,000,000 Ukranians starved as a matter of state policy; to the efforts to lie about Soviet infiltration of our government during and after WWII (yes, there really were communists in the state department); to the New Left’s (and Bernie’s) embrace of every communist government on the planet, in the 60’s; to the steady erosion and misrepresentation of American history in favor of Zinnism; to the corruption of our once admired universities as they’ve been converted into propaganda mills; the left has been on the wrong side of history every time. And they’re OK with that.

What they’re not OK with is Bernie pulling back the curtain and revealing the hard, Marxist heart beating at their core. Over at CNN, Van Jones declared himself “disappointed” that Bernie refused to reject authoritarian socialism during the debate (as if there’s any other way to ram it down peoples’ throats.) Keep in mind, this is the guy who was drummed out of the Obama Administration early on because he was actually a member of the Communist Party. Now he’s hiding in plain sight, eating away at what little credibility the MSM still retains. You bet he was disappointed: Bernie’s off script. He’s still a bomb-throwing revolutionary who missed the memo that went out in the 70’s: true revolutionaries get elected, they join the police force, the military, they become teachers—hiding in plain sight.

That’s how they avoid unpleasant confrontations with reality like what it was that “literacy program” had the people reading: it wasn’t Rousseau, or Kierkegaard. And literacy wasn’t the first thing on Castro’s mind either: it was getting the firing squads cranked up to ease the transition to the socialist utopia. Over 11,000 confirmed state murders with the real number perhaps 10x higher. Just doing his part to contribute to the 100,000,000+ deaths that will always be socialism’s putrid legacy. Somehow, Bernie never mentions this. Neither did the CBS moderators last night, any of the other candidates, nor anyone on the left.

They don’t want you thinking such unpleasant thoughts while they babble about transformation. Bernie’s making it difficult to keep the bullshit intact

Yeah, some things Castro did were bad, but at least he implemented a government system that enslaves the entire population of Cuba.
