Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I love Paris and the Seine, but I have to say that the locals a (and tourists??) do not treat it well; it always smells of piss and cigarette butts. And the Seine is treated like an open sewer, which in some ways it actually is.

My experience of Paris was not great... terribly expensive, stinking and full of undesirables.
I went there with locals who knew all the cool spots and still not keen to go back.
It must have been great before 1990...
