Blacks all too happily went along with the plan and they are still to this day refusing to change their ways and to becoming productive participants in the economy and general society.

Knee jerk responses to perceived problems frequently lead to greater harm due to counterproductive 2nd order effects.

I grew up in abject poverty. My deadbeat Dad deserted my mother and her 4 kids while she was in the hospital giving birth to my youngest sister. After she picked up the 3 of us older kids from my father’s girlfriend’s place and got us home she hired a babysitter to watch us while she worked to try to support us and pay the babysitter. She eventually realized she would have more money available ($100/child/month to support the family if she went on welfare and her children. We grew up knowing we were poor and the refuse of society, but that taught us to desire to escape from that life by working hard to get out. My brother and I had cleaned the entire town we grew up in of all discarded bottles by the time I was about 8 years old. We would collect beer bottles and redeem them for 1/2 cents each at the local bar. Then we found out we could get 5 cents for each coke bottle. After the town was clean, we started mowing lawns, raking yards and shoveling snow and chopping wood for 50 cents/hour. I was able to purchase my first car for $50 when I was 13 years old and found older men in the church to teach me how to help it running, purchasing parts at the junkyard. My mother borrowed money from me when I was a teenager in order to purchase a lawnmower after ours had broken down. She paid it back with interest which taught me to be a lender instead of a borrower.

Welfare was meant to be a safety net, but turned into an alternative to work. After years of being on this safety net, it was all we knew. Even so, we got far more help (not monitory, but substantial from God through the church and the Bible. The negatives of being raised in poverty were exactly what propelled my brother and me out of poverty and the church and Biblical principles provided the means. We have both figured out that God used those difficult times as a blessing and a prod to push us to work for a different lifestyle, while realizing that all good gifts come from Him.

When government gets involved in charity, they inevitably cause more damage than good, and the sooner people get away from dependence upon government, the more success they will ultimately find in seeking a better life. The church and God’s word are the best tools to help people through those difficult times we will face. My mother was able to escape the trap of welfare before my little sister left home, but most people are stuck for generations and may never know any other life. That’s probably why communism and government “coming to the rescue” seems so attractive. People help people; governments help politicians and those behind the politicians, not the citizenry who elect them.

I compare the world's ways to God's ways.

So, only explaining a bit?

We were basically given our home, unbelievable small amount of money, all legal.

It has some land. We grow some things. After initial small investment, we keep getting some food.

The world is buy, buy, 'good bye', and prices just go up.
Can't win.

We bought a basil plant that is great and it had tomato
seeds that grew. Late, so tomatoes are green, but
still things we can do.

I think the welfare system, in part, was necessary for
the real difficulty many have around money.
Many don't understand money. Money's more than
dollar bills.

With God's ways, we work. It's pleasant work, and
interesting to us. See how they grow.

Watching Netflix doesn't help anyone's financial situation.
Always going to McDonald's etc., doesn't help anyone's health.

But doing things is work. I call it good, useful work.
'Working' is a trap.

All true, why work if the government will pay you to be unproductive.Section 8 (free rent), Snap(free food) , medicaid (free medical),plus cash to buy drugs and I think Osama been lyin issued them free phones and internet. Our taxes go to pay these losers who rob us blind...coming and going. I refuse to give to charity anymore because I give $100's in taxes every paycheck supporting these lazy AH''s
