I have never been impressed by Portland.   It's where the planners at my office went for inspiration.  No matter how many times we would go over the numbers the planners would insist that mass transit was the way to go if you wanted efficiency.  As far as I could find there is only one mass transit system in the world that paid for itself and that was in Tokyo.  What Anti Fa represents is the same parasitic mindset.  It attracts people who can't create meaning in life, living off the productivity of other people.  

I have nothing against mass transit but it is really a throwback to an earlier time when the vast majority of people were poor.  The reason the automobile became so popular is freedom.  It's not just about the freedom to go where you want but also the freedom that comes from direct connections and the use of the time that direct connections save.  The people attracted to Anti Fa do not want freedom; it was deadly for them.  They are generally people who were given everything by way of the productivity of their parents but couldn't find a way to make that meaningful.  They could do anything they wanted and all they could come up with was to spread their own misery.  Instead of mass transit someone with imagination would have put freedom and meaning as their top priority.  Most commuters will soon be replaced by AI.  All the meaningless office jobs that low level "professionals" do will soon not be needed.  Building mass transit will be looked back on as the work of people that had no imagination.  People who didn't value freedom.

I know that pollution is a problem but when I saw the movie "I Robot" I said there is a writer who understands creating meaning in life and freedom.  Individual transportation units with I assume "nuclear power" to charge the batteries.  Someone who also saw that robots (AI) are not the enemy unless we make them the enemy.  It's appropriate that the judge in this case is female.  In Taoism the female represents these qualities.

Feminine/the female force/feminine energy, black, dark, north, water (transformation), passive, moon (weakness and the goddess Changxi), earth, cold, old, even numbers, valleys, poor, soft, and provides spirit to all things.

It represents the naturalistic perspective.  In particular passivity and poverty.  In nature there is no productivity but rather consumption of what nature provides.  The darkness that comes from the inability to create meaning in life.  The irony is that Taoism has been described as the feminine as opposed to the masculine Confucianism.  Confucius it turns out was only concerned with civilization not natural instincts. 

Anti Fa represents monkeys running around looking for non-existent Nazis.  It isn't Nazis they hate but civilization itself.  The civilized state that Yang represented by the following.

Masculine /the male force/ masculine energy, white ,light, south, ,fire, (creativity), active, sun (strength and the god Xihe), heaven, warm, young, odd numbers, mountains, rich, hard, and provides form to all things.

In particular imagination and productivity.  The harsh but stable conditions that civilization requires.  The story of Genesis in the Bible tells the same truth as Taoism.  Once you have received the knowledge of good and evil your life will be one of labor.  Cast out of the Garden of Eden, or nature, humans developed civilization and the necessity of productivity.  The need to create meaning.  
In nature there is no meaning because nature is purposeless and amoral.  Nature is formless, a product of "random" events.  Nature is passive evolving according to the caprice nature of the environment.  The only thing nature "cares" about is fitness in the form of reproduction.  In the civilized state fitness takes on a completely different meaning.  It isn't the number of offspring that determines fitness but how productive those offspring are.  It calls for a slow lifestyle where giving birth is the work of an organized society.
   
The question is how does Anti Fa and their social engineering partners provide the freedom to create meaning in life?  Because they are naturalists they are determinists.  They are determinists because they don't have the imagination to overcome reductionism.  The decomposition of everything into it's assumed characteristic, a way of seeing through the mirror darkly.  Because they are determinists, freewill is impossible.  Without freewill there is no agency and by extension human dignity.  It reduces humans to monkeys running around looking for things that do not exist.  Civilization is about creating meaning where none exists.  About a slow lifestyle and a harsh but stable environment.

If you are looking for meaning in life I would not turn to the new age religions or Anti Fa but to those philosophies that have successfully created meaning.  A good place to start is a combination of Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism and Judaism.  I certainly would not look to scientism or natural philosophy.  Natural philosophy is a great way to understand nature but it struggles with complex, chaotic systems such as societies.  While natural philosophy is entirely abstract it rejects abstract reality.  Abstract reality where meaning and morality is created.
