The things with Reagan showing him the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing. Just like O-bomb-a he repeatedly raised the debt ceiling over, and over, and over. He was the first president to put this country into debt for more than a billion dollars, and created a trend of the feds living on borrowed dimes that has not stopped. The funny thing was back when he did it the democrats ranted and gnashed their teeth about how that was the worst thing he could do to the country, and were demanding a Constitutional Amendment that called for a balanced budget every year, something, like O-bomb-a, Reagan never accomplished. The GOP was carrying on about how it was the most patriotic thing a president could do, and that a law forcing a balanced budget would destroy the country. That script went right down the line years later when it was the O-bomb-a administration piling the debt up. The GOP wanted an Amendment forcing a balanced budget. The worst thing that could happen would be for a convention of states to be held to change the Constitution because the one thing they would say it was all about would be the last thing they would change.

Reagan intentionally refused to agree to a couple of things the Russians asked for as part of their withdrawal from Afghanistan. He did this for no other reason than because he could and it was his way of winning a personal pissing contest with the "Evil Empire". His holding out did not give this country any advantage, and only caused numerous more needless deaths. Of course he could have had a hidden agenda, like creating terrorist organizations that could be used down the road as an excuse for our federal government to tear away more of our liberties here when one of those groups hijacks a few planes and uses them kill a few thousand Americans. Coincidentally doing the very day after Rumsfeld announces an audit of the Pentagon showed over 2 Trillion dollars were missing. Maybe the CIA just needed a little more time making sure AL Qeida was more stable to carry on without the Reagan administration funding them for a few years, and giving them things like 20 SAMs which have never been accounted for.

What I find particularly humorous in a sick way is that the islamic terrorists our federal government has been waging illegal wars against for the past 20 years were, to Reagan, heroes. He admired them so much he had a bus load of them brought to the White House for dinner where he announced the Taliban was the moral equivalent of the founding fathers of the United States.

Then there was the whole Iran/Contra debacle, Reagan's Bay of Pigs. He forces NATO allies to take part in his unilateral decision to enforce sanctions against Iran with threats of dire consequences if any of our allies are caught violating his sanctions. Then he turns around and has the CIA move all kinds of weapons and ordinance to Iran to help them carry out illegal wars in Nicaragua, and El Salvador. Of course when O-bomb-a was not so sneaky about things and just sent them a pallet filled with cash he was ever so evil.

Reagan made Lord only knows what deals to get a narrow corridor of air space for our war planes to fly through to bomb Gadaffi's palace in Libya with no plans on who will take over that country if those raids succeeded. Of course all they accomplished was killing his 3 year old daughter, and some servants. Yet when O-bomb-a helps the people of Libya kill Gaddafi, short of sending in planes, or troops he was, again, ever so evile for doing basically the exact same thing Reagan did back then.

If one steps back to look at things objectively it is pretty easy to see the O-bomb-a administration was, on many levels, a carbon copy of the Reagan administration. (Carbon copy....that reference sure gave away my age).

If Biden and Camela Harris are allowed to be yet another illegal administration like Biden's mentor was we will likely see the TSA broaden out to provide "security" online, and when people offend their agents do not be surprised to find the SS (Secret Service) knocking on your door to take you off to some kind of re-education camp. Not unlike the HUAC hearings which Reagan was a huge supporter of.

When the GOP forced John McCain on it's voting base I could no longer ignore what I had been seeing for quite some time before that. Since the end of WWII the democrats and the republicans are not actually at odds with each when it comes to what each respective party accomplishes when they have the power. They get in fornt of the cameras and rant, gnash their teeth, promise the people heads will roll for whatever scandal is the headliner for the day. Then they let things die off and create some new diversion, like with Trey Gowdy and his wasting money on hearings about Benghazi and the deleted emails, and the republican ran the hearings over the Fast and Furious idiocy where the O-bomb-a administration armed the Mexican drug cartels. Sure they had some great "patriotic" things to say, and sure put this and that democrats in their place in front of the cameras, but nobody ever faced criminal charges for their crimes, and we still have no answers on who was ultimately responsible. All we have a lot of debt for the hearings. O-bomb-a voters actually thought he was going to end our illegal wars in the middle East because, after all, he was a muslim himself. But he never even really tried, and then turned around and expanded the drone war to several other countries.

One last thing, Reagan started the whole amnesty for illegals bit, which O-bomb-a just expanded on with his Dream Act. The way things have worked out over the past 40 years sure looks like these two parties are actually giving each other a helping hand behind the scenes in the slow demise of our Republic as it is being replaced with one socialist program after another.

@KCSantiago Well...I wasn't much into politics back then. All I knew was that compared to Carter he was a breath of fresh air. He was also a former democrat so he didn't do that badly as a Republican. What I know of Amnesty is that it was supposed to be followed by stringent border controls. I think Reagan suffered from resistance not unlike Trump. The DC establishment was against him and the media also didn't like him. some of those negative things that occurred I excuse as the establishment trying to sabotage him. He compromised on things he shouldn't have. But as I say, my perception at the time is he was a breath of fresh air after Carter.

@FrankZeleniuk I do agree, had Carter another shot at the presidency no telling what damage he may had done. I just think the Republic will be better served if we also face the truth about various republican presidents that have helped undermine the country, and Reagan is one of those.

Israel is a prime example of a republican president continuing the failure politics of his socialist democrat predecessor. When Carter took office this country had just been spanked hard by OPEC nations for our refusal to use our influence to reign in Israel. From it's beginning Israel knew all of it's neighbors would take every chance to destroy the country and slaughter as many Jewish people as they could in the process so from the very beginning they created a very effective defense ministry. Time and again they hand the muslims their asses on a silver platter even though Israel was seriously outgunned, and out numbered. In those conflicts like the 6 Day War, and the Yom Kippur War the United States best helped Israel by simply standing down and letting Israel defend Israel. At the most we provided weapons, and some recon as we could.

After the Yom Kippur War the muslim nations the formed OPEC realized they had a great tool for punishing the U. S. and jacked prices of a barrel of oil, and with held shipments. I remember the days of gas rationing like it was WWII again. Things got so bad in California people were getting shot at the pumps for taking what someone else thought was too much, or not letting someone cut in line.

So when Carter got in office this lukewarm Christian that was half a socialist decided to appease the OPEC powers and started his Camp David BS with Yassar Arafat. Reagan continued that policy of undermining Israel, with George Bush really shafting Israel in the first Gulf War. If the U. S. had just stood down and let Israel defend Israel as we had done in the past that war would have been truly over with the capture and executon of Hussein. Instead we grounded Israeli forces, and had to do a second take on that war a few years later. Each administration since has taken the undercutting of Israel one step further until we got Trump in office. His treatment of Israel was a very refreshing surprise. As a Christian this is a very important point for me in regards to world politics.

What worries me most is whether Trump gets his second term as he should or not, in all future elections the money behind the GOP will not allow anyone like him, someone willing to work more for the people than for the powers behind the scenes, the chance to take office again. The typical republican voter will accept this without a fight, and just go back to voting the evil lesser even though what they will ultimately reap is more evil until nothing is left.

@KCSantiago During Carter's Presidency and into Reagan's the globalists were pushing the "peak oil crisis". We were in danger of running out of oil. OPEC loved that "gaslighting" propaganda as Arafat stuffed billions into his Swiss bank account while pounding the war drum.
I hope Trump turns this around and exposes these cretins for what they are.

@FrankZeleniuk If the wannabe fascists get their way and try inaugurating Camela, and her running mate I am very curious to see how Trump will bring the fight to them. I do not expect him to simply roll over however this goes.
