Lots of salt, lots of salt is very helpful when dealing with slugs.

I've seen a number of new members, which I think is good.I haven't sensed a changing undercurrent per se.

Just relax lads. Take a dip and chuck a lime wedge into some corona take a big hit of last nights spliff and just chiiiiiill.

Embrace the newbies, don't push them away and complain about how the old times are better like some sad old man protecting his lawn.

Teach them/us/me the ways and encourage.

Generally Enviroments tend to mold people. Not the other way around.

Given I've been around online social media since....oh.....it was created, there has always been tension between those that want to have serious conversations and those that just want to demand fealty to whatever brand of 'nuts' is on special this week. If you have a small group, it will tend to be dominated by the 'serious' because it is hard and time consuming to have those types of conversations. Once it is 'found', you get the other kind too. That is good because you get more serious types....but the noise ratio climbs. As @Thasaidon says - adaptation and change.

Everything changes. We may not like it but we cannot stop it. All we can do is our best to adapt to it.

I just want to be heard and that seems kind of hard here. I notice lately that some good vids like Laren Chen and Polly seem not around.

For those of you wondering whats different ...
Imagine there’s two bars side by side ...
One is relatively quiet ... pool table, chess sets, darts a good selection of beer on draft like Guiness, pretty decent food ... a bar with “Regulars” not all the same but similar.
One is a sports bar with 49 TVs bright loud and energetic ... the type that does Trivia Teams every Tuesday night ... it has an okay bar but their biggest seller is relatively inexpensive “Lite” beer ... a bar with “regulars” who are mostly all the same except maybe for the Teams they root for.

So ... one day the Sports Bar (aka “SLUG” ) gets bought by the Quiet Bar (“IDW” ) and the management puts in a connecting door.
There’s not ever going to be much interest by the people in the Quiet bar to visit the Sports bar, since the Sports bar people are more “energetic” they keep checking out the Quiet bar but all they have for conversation and thought process is Trivia and Sports Stats ... they tend to be loud and boisterous and want to know why there’s no Lite beer on tap ...

But the pool table normally being played by quiet serious people suddenly becomes a “Sports” challenge arena except the Quiet people don’t care to play against people who are bouncing up and down and walking back and forth and wanting to talk about things they understand that are mostly of no interest to the Quiet people.

I think thats kind of the change.

Mostly the Quiet people will simply wait for the Sports people to go back to their Lite beer ...

No ... not the only one ...
It was worse for a bit and its actually gotten better.
Most of them went away when they couldn’t get us to “play” their BS Games
However, that doesn’t mean that there haven’t been some ... undesired ... changes in the people found here.
Undesired is MY term ... MY view ... Others seem to be okay with it.
