I am Daniel Heintz. I prefer accountability over anonymity, so I make my name known.
I hold views that might be considered contradictory depending on the understood semantics.
I am religious. An agnostic atheist. Not religiously atheist, but religiously rational. Although I practice logic and critical thinking, I am prone to fallacy. My discipline in ritual epistemology aims to bring me closer to accuracy.
I am a social libertarian. I do hold conservative values in some ways (gun rights, abstinence), and liberal values in others. (Gun regulation, prochoice). I believe that life matters most at a level of consciousness not obtained in early gestation but before birth. Thus I aim to prevent unwanted birth, but the decision of a woman's body is her own. Such that sex ed. Is crucial, prevention is crucial, responsibility is crucial. I believe that the people need an ability to keep check on the government, as it is guns alone would not prevent the bloated military and technologically advances from tyrannical rule. I believe that all members of society after a certain age should be trained to responsibly handle and own guns. The more advanced technology should be decentralized across the states, while law enforcement should never have military grade equipment.
I follow metamodernism distinct from postmodernism in that it is self critical and maintains a grand narrative as modernism would. Oscillating between criticality and support as a devil's advocate would. Observing historical philosophy as though it was valid and invalid. My ethics are aesthetically informed but not naively arrogant, recognizing ignorance and subjectivity without completely defeating my opinion as if it was irrelevant.
Epistemology and rhetoric are fundamentally valued processes. I try to observe all modes of inference and seek to discover the value of reductive and abductive reasoning in addition to inductive and deductive reasoning. I am versed in rationalism and empiricism although informally educated.
I am a transhumanist, I seek life extension and ultimately brain uploading. I do not expect to succeed in this, but I desire it as I find it more pragmatic than belief in an after life. If successful in uploading my body will not be limited to biological genders. This I personally avoid identifying as male or female, although I am biologically male. As a multicellular eukaryotic being I enjoy the prospect of being a 'they' although I do not practice the use of such pronouns as currently I am a singular consciousness.
Please be critical of me but constructively so, as I wish to improve, but I do not enjoy degradation or negativity.
