In this video the questioned posed is why third and/or fourth generations of migrant females argue for a return to wearing traditional Islamic hijabs?

Years ago it was common for western women to wear scarfs that covered their heads. Although for no significant reason that I’m aware of, a scarf did/does serve to comply with the religious requirement(s) during prayer. But I digress.

I would suggest that it takes immigrants a couple of generation to realize they’ve made the very bad feminist trade of ‘privilege’ for the biological impossibility of ‘equality’ with males -– only to discover they have neither?

Although, regardless of feminist repudiations to the contrary, biological ‘equality’ isn’t even within the realm of possibility. And yet feminism insists upon such unrealistic biological ‘equality’ while retaining the ‘privileges’ females have held to themselves throughout history. Only only after receiving a taste of this so called ‘equality’ men have do females statr to realize the privilege they’ve had all along.

Misogyny in the Muslim communities probably does exist given the oppressive lives men are forced to endure maintaining such privileged life styles for Muslim women.

The bottom line is that women ALWAYS complain about something and the grass is ALWAYS greener in anther's field. The balancing act women want appears to be the retention of their historic privileges while acquiring whatever they perceive men privileged with – in complete disregard for biology. They’re like the dog that wants to eat the cat’s food in addition to their own.

I suspect that there’s something quite similar in the Quran as is at Genesis 3:17-19. Never mind the phrase {Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it:…..} that by listening to his wife he (her as well, lets not leave her out) had basically pissed in humanities rice crispies.

Freedom comes with responsibility. There are always trade offs. The hippie generation transformed into the yuppie generation once they learned that freedom wasn't all it was supposed to be. The majority of hippies realized that taking on more responsibility opened up the door to a more desirable form of freedom that comes from economic success.

The relationship between the hippie movement and the sexual revolution isn't clear. There was a good deal of sexual promiscuity before the sexual revolution. The hippie movement however changed how people viewed traditional lifestyles.

Adolescence is typically a period of promiscuity because young adults have few sexual outlets within the traditional monogamous systems such as marriage. Young males in particular have a disadvantage because of the hypergamy of females. Take away traditional values and the playing field is leveled. Numbers alone shifted society to a youth culture to a state of permanent adolescence due to the baby boom. Effective and easy birth control allowed females to get into the game like they never had before.

WWII changed how women saw the world. Employment opportunities were clearly a way to be less dependent on men. With the desirable males off to war women learned to take care of themselves and enjoyed a kind of freedom they had never had before. When the men came home women returned to traditional lifestyles but they had tasted freedom from male dependence and it would stick with them. The opportunity for equal pay was no longer just a pipe dream but something that had been experienced to some extent.

Given the freedom to be independent most people will choose it. Women are no different than men in this regard. Most people will also not reject privileges that are offered to them. If those privileges come with responsibilities people will try and find ways to keep the privileges and forgo the responsibilities.

Traditionally biology dictated privileges and responsibilities but technology changed the meaning of biology. As technology expanded, hard manual labor became less common. In theory a woman can operate a machine or work in a factory as well as a man. Some factories even preferred women because of manual dexterity. Physical strength became less important because a machine was doing what humans once did. Even in the home machines greatly reduce the necessary hours of labor. Women had more free time and men less backbreaking labor. Even childbirth became more efficient and less dangerous with modern medicine. Efficiency meant less hours were needed to produce more of everything and all sorts of behaviors less dangerous. Less hours and less danger meant more freedom to enjoy life. Traditional privileges started to seem archaic. Responsibilities less urgent. Conditions it turns out had been reinforcing traditional roles.

The hidden costs of freedom, it turned out, were fairly high. The sense of social responsibilities in general diminished along with the cost of ignoring them. Cooperation at all levels of society started to break down. New economic systems isolated the classes leaving the poor and working class to languish in chaos. Sex became a play thing disassociated from reproduction. Individual responsibility was shifted to the government. Women never happy to have been dominated by men openly rebelled because they were free to do so.
