Everyone is looking for that magic pill. Maximum results for minimal effort. Nothing works better or safer than a proper diet and vigorous exercise.

Just like smoking where shaming worked, fat shaming is probably the most effective solution we have to the obesity crisis. The sooner we deal with the fact that life isn't fair the sooner we can return to sanity. While genetic susceptibility to obesity is a reality and diet fads often unhealthy the left's insistence on denying the role of genetics in life outcomes is dangerous and disingenuous. You don't here them saying that susceptibility to breast cancer is a personal normal. We basically have a large segment of the population that is emotionally retarded. Progressives seem particularly effected by this disease.

I know of 3 people who had bariatric surgery, two of them (bypass) gained all the weight back plus within 3 years. The other one (bariatric sleeve) is struggling and gained about half the weight she initially lost. It's only a temporary fix.

As a former fitness instructor now in my 70s with normal blood pressure, cholesterol around 100 and triglycerides below 100, without any medication to achieve those numbers, I can confidently assert that only exercise and a balanced diet low in carbs will result in good health and fitness. NOTHING else. (In other words, no diet, without consistent and frequent exercise, will achieve anything.)
