While I can’t entirely (respectfully) agree with the ‘Thinking Ape’s’ denunciation of Dr. Peterson, I can’t all together disagree either.
Half truths are spurious misrepresentations when young men are entitled to the whole unvarnished and/or uncorrupted truth of their status relative to society?
Society, in some way, has rationalized that it’s proper somehow to deceive men – lest they go their own way, as it were? I would submit that that’s a socialist view point thru-&-thru?
I’ll not disagree that a man is responsible for himself along with his progeny – if that is determined?
Women, and society,throughout history has made a concerted effort to deny men knowledge of their offspring – for the explicit purpose of extracting responsibility from them?
In prehistory, even before marriage contracts of indenture, this subterfuge began in matriarchal caves by not allowing any individual man knowledge of which child was his offspring thereby forcing him to support the entire communal arrangement? This is the foundation of ‘socialism’ – even then? This is why women (and indoctrinated male feminists) are prone to socialism, while men are more prone to individual liberty?
Today, in spite of, scientific advancements, DNA testings availability to rectify this misandry, men are still being kept in the dark as to the paternity of the children they support?
It is apparently assumed that men are mere human doings – beasts of burden, as it were? Why else would there still be this opposition to men simply knowing who they’ve fathered?
If women and this gynocentric society don’t need men, why not allow them to go their own ways?
The Thinking-Ape is absolutely correct when he asserts that Dr. Peterson is doing a disservice to men with this promotion of the idea that ‘responsibility’ is the purpose of men and key to his happiness?
PS. Socialism has stolen men’s paternity all these ions simply to facilitate the extraction and socialist redistribution of the fruits of his labor? Gentlemen, consider MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) individualist philosophy of life for yourself – but don’t commit to anything regardless your decision!

Money may not be able to buy happiness but it does seem to reduce stress in marriages.
The above is just to illustrate that Jordan Peterson knows the statistical evidence. Now I understand that statistics can be misleading but they are about the only way to know what is happening in society from an objective perspective. If you have the necessary resources and make the right choices then marriage and family are still a rewarding pursuit. The current social environment however has proven to be a major hurdle. As I said in another post the post modernists and their spawn such as diversity, inclusion and equity, as well as much of the feminist movement are misanthropic in nature. Some people enjoy other peoples misery.
That said Jordan is probably wrong about the mens rights movement. One of the goals of the evil cabal of socialists, communists, racial activists, and associated and various spawn of post modernism and other movements that gained traction in the 60s is to destroy the family. The easiest way to do that was to get low income women to opt out of marriage to low income men. By design or unintended consequence welfare as established has accomplished that goal. The next easy target was professional women who don't need men for support and are too busy for family. They undoubtedly make up a lot of the feminists. Promoting the LGTB lifestyle is another way to destroy the family. The mens rights movement like MAGA is a reaction to the effort to destroy the family for political control. It's generally about making people dependent on the state not each other. Peterson by constitution is soft on socialism and suspicious of "right wing" reaction.
