As soon as ancient human remains are excavated, archaeologists begin the work of determining a number of traits about the individual, including age, race and gender.
But a new school of thought within archaeology is pushing scientists to think twice about assigning gender to ancient human remains.

I guess it might make sense if they excavated a male Egyptian mummy wearing a dress. Otherwise, not so much.
@sobieskirocks Hmm. I spose. But wouldn’t the mummy have to be identified as a male first in order for the dress to confuse the matter? And if he were found in a dress would that change his sex?
The problem with all this is that it is a lie, pure and simple, to assert that one’s gender is a matter of personal choice, reassignment, or alteration.
Hahaha.
Of course all men wore dresses in the Egyptian dynastic age.
Pants were not invented yet.
Slaves and the poor wore a type of folded nappy while working and dresses when not. The rich only wore dresses.
