- It's morally correct to support transitioning for a prepubescent child, despite multiple studies suggesting a desistance rate of anywhere between 64-95%. Yet...
- It's morally abhorrent to support desistance and is now legally banned.
Hoo boy. All I can think is what I've said previously: there is a concerted, multi-vectored approach to systematically eliminating child-producing relationships from the progressive Left, and no one's talking about it. From denouncing the family unit as an element of "Whiteness;" declaring that men are not necessary in the rearing of children; to promoting transgenderism before the child is even a sexual being; to celebrating abortion and hook-up culture as female empowerment...all of these things - whether they were intentionally designed this way or not - all have the common thread of creating fewer and fewer families at a time where birth rates have already plummeted to 1980s levels, despite a larger overall population.
I guess that - since birthrates in the Muslim world have exploded - the progressive West decided it must socially engineer its people to try to offset the excess population.

The same question can be asked of those with the exact opposite opinion. Many people who are vehemently against any degree of gender-reaffirming measures for those under 18 will then be 100% in favor of conversion therapy for minors to force them into changing their orientation.
Ah yes, the standard, "two wrongs don't make a right, but we're okay with that," excuse. In other words, we're perfectly okay with doing something clearly wrong if we think someone else is doing the same wrong.
@Alysandir never said that, nor have I ever supported gender-affirming surgery on minors. Merely pointing out the blatant tribalism hypocrisy - on both sides of the ideological spectrum.

While it is true that I do refine my thoughts quite frequently, I do not modify my comments once someone has replied to them, except to correct spelling or grammatical errors. As such, I reject the implication that I modified my response in order to invalidate yours.
