What part of human government was established for the express purpose(s) of licensing/regulating & administering domestic civil contracts between consenting adult humans – IS THAT NOT GOVERNMENT CONTROL OF YOUR INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS?
Isn’t it a lot ridiculous to think that any human government is with authority to legally regulate the intimate relation(s) between consenting adults? That is with the exception of GIVING UNTO CAESAR WHAT CAESAR HAS ORDAINED TO BE CAESAR'S – is that what marriage is now?
Why self appointed religious leaders don’t even have that authority & power. The more power that human beings give over themselves THE MORE THAT WILL BE TAKEN & TAKEN & TAKEN without end!
Just the other day, I heard someone say that war was the most intoxicating narcotic. I disagree, POWER is the most intoxicating narcotic known to humanity. Given enough a human being will even pronounce themselves to be THE GOD over nature & humankind – humanity has been there done that already. What’s said in the last sentence is not to be confused with being A GOD – of which there are very very many. “POWER CORRUPT; ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY”

Apart from Socialists, I don’t know of a single Man that sees marriage(s) as personal property – that includes the states administering them. I would submit that by state regulation of marriage(s) as civil contract THEY MAKE THEMSELVES SOCIALISTS.
The less marriage(s) administered by government the less contracts of indentured servitude there is – it’s really that simple. As I recall the old adage goes something like: “Women were owned as chattel;” CONVENIENTLY leaving out the rest of the adage which went on to say: “; and men were owned as beasts of burden.”
