Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Have you ever run into that interview that someone did with an alleged former Soviet agent who claims that the Soviets intentionally infiltrated the West's higher education to teach Marxism? I'm guessing most of you have or have at least heard of it.
Assuming there is any truth to the claim, the thing I find most interesting is that most people I know who've seen it assume that this was the USSR's attempt to subvert the US and bring us over to their way of thinking. But I don't think this was the case at all. After all, changing our political philosophies wouldn't necesarily make us friends or allies, would it? If anything, it might make us even more dangerous adversaries, if you believe in the power of socialism/communism.
The only logical conclusion then is that the Soviets understood just how messed up and crippling communism was and were hoping it would cripple us as well. Has it? You decide.
