Eventually. Its the way of humanity for all empires to die out as new ones rise. It's mostly violent and bloody when it does happen.
I foresee America, who controls few territories outside of it like past empires, to devolve into separate countries or zones within itself. We could be like the situation of the Roman Empire which split into two different areas, Rome and Byzantine. This would be like West America and East America with states between them being forged into their own countries. For example the South may become independent as they share a cultural bond. Texas may seek to become its own country again. Who knows how it would politically and culturally play out or what states would bond with others. That's just my opinion.
