Being a Country of laws, that benefit commerce, to the benefit of all, we do not have a Government that can order a Company summarily to break it's self up. The process is slow, and intentionally so. The Balance of Government and the governed, hopefully never will one side act independently, and unilaterally! Right now their are individual Court cases against Google, Facebook, and Twitter. Courts interpret the law, that may lead to a case of Antitrust. But, there has to be more then one party or one Senator to get to that point. Changing the laws takes a lot of people on all sides of the debate. Sorry, it is so slow and cumbersome. We made it that way. Perhaps we will decide to change in, lawfully. The passion to destroy has a lot more news and fasination right now.

As they say wheels of justice turn very slowly. off course the technological innovation moves faster than bureaucrats in Washignton and now we have alliance between big tech and one party so that doe snot help and than there is lobbying process, which is essentially legal bribe and meddling with elections.

I guess I agree with that you are saying in principle, that checks and balances and do process are there so power would not be abused, but at the same time the process has gotten so corrupt that its no longer serving its original intent. In the event of war, or in the event of civil unrest as we see now, it becomes painfully obvious that not everyone is playing by the same rules. But its the side effect of such a government I guess. Dictatorship would be more efficient, but it would had its nasty side effects as well. Compromises, compromises, ha?

@KrunoS Harry Truman, a Great man and President! You make me think. I wonder if our form of Government, can survive this fast pace of Tech innovation, especially communication. There is probably a better way, but so far we have evolved only the corrupt ways around it's checks! And One Party has already decided to "throw out the baby with the bath water". The unwinding of some of the corruption, "drain the swamp", will only make the economic engine roar. But the civil laws and rules are breaking down. One side is giving them a mighty push, with no plans for after! Else their call to shut down formal legal police forces would have been embraced.

@Machiavelliwar Will see what happens after the Election in few months. it will be a big sign of what is to come. Too much luxury and prosperity can make people forget what got them there and lose it as a consequence. I think since the riots are on the streets and whole problems with crime, more people are getting involved in politics in a sense that they are looking at it with more interests, suspecting something is deeply wrong even if they don't always know what

@KrunoS . Yes, and they may actually have to ACT, on something more then sweet platitudes. My night-mare, is those who took the bribe, not for internal enrichment, but those who find they are another countries useful pawn. Many of us have seen how the Soviets intended our internal corruption and fall, the second wave might just be a richer more ruthless, and intelligent foe. My main hope, is there is no HONOR among thieves! Is my cynic hat showing?

The thing is those who are trying to Stop Trumps Draining project only want " business as usual". That will leave all of their front line troops in jail, or retiring to the mountains of Guatemala. (Are there mountains in Guatemala?) You Europeans will have tourists, forever, with supersonic jets to fly them there, and back in quick speed. And Nancy Pelosi will still have heels on, presiding over Congress by her Refrigerators! (I understand, one is a below 0' Freezer unit that cost 20,000.00 odd dollars.)
