Bernie Sanders thinks that imprisoned felons (even terrorists) should be allowed to vote.
Either Bernie thinks they will vote for him or he just waaaay over virtue-signaled.
So Bernie is courting an under-served segment of the population (those serving time.)
Bernie - I think those that are incarcerated for theft will like my message... it's not theft it's redistribution. I also think that murderers, terrorists, and what have you would like to vote, and I think they would like to vote for me. I speak to them... not unlike the voices in their heads.

Bernie was given the chance to walk back his statement and then doubled down on it.
Kamala Harris at first seemed to be on board with felon suffrage or at least did not reject it outright. As she put it,"I think that's a conversation that we should have."
Since she was asked the question live, I kinda thought she was having the conversation already...
Twenty-four hours later she rejected the whole let murderers vote thingy. Apparently her Pollsters told her it was a conversation that she shouldn't have.
Man, I don't have that kind of luxury.
When my wife asks me about cleaning out the garage I don't get to tell her that's a conversation we should have. I don't even get to tell her, "Hey let me check with my Pollsters, and I'll get back to you on the entire clutter / the city wants to condemn our garage issue."
