David Silverman needs our help!

Over a year ago my good friend David Silverman was thrown under the bus by people who claimed to be skeptics. Dave is the former President of American Atheists, Author of Fighting God: An Atheist Manifesto for a Religious World and the creator of the 2012 Reason Rally which was the largest gathering of atheists (and those who called themselves agnostics, humanists, freethinkers exc..) in human history.

After over two decades of dedicating his life to defending religious liberty, his life was turned upside down. Based on the evidence I've seen, Dave is not an assaulter, not a harasser, and not a thief. Yet he was walked out of his office like a criminal because of the extreme environment that was promoted in the later parts of the atheist movement. His family life was ruined. And now it has become nearly impossible for him to get a job in any managerial position. He is currently using the money stored in his 401k.

#MeToo needs to be fixed so real victims of harassment and assault can be heard, while the accused are heard as well and all parties receive due process. "Believe women" too often comes across as "Believe all women", which is a terrible idea. Innocent until proven guilty is a staple of any modern society, and with good reason. Dave needs your help to get due process, and I'm asking you all to support him - not just for Dave's sake but for everyone else who may be falsely accused. This is a fight for skepticism, fairness, and human rights.
