Why is freedom desirable?
Having a free society and market is the fairest, most civil and most potentially prosperous option. The freer nations become economically and socially, the more prosperous they become. That's how America exploded from a tiny nation into the world leader it is today. People from all over the world wanted to enter the Home of the Free, and for good reason. And that's how small nations today that have been in turmoil for decades have become peaceful and prosperous societies. An increase in freedom is an increase in peace and prosperity.
People are terrible at ruling. Power over other’s lives almost always makes us corrupt and immoral. Rulers and governments are very ineffective at supplying a nation’s best interest, even with the fairest foundations and intentions.
