Indigenous leaders formally let it be known they are NOT part of the blockade and that they are in fact supporting the effort to extract gas and oil there.

Absolutely - 20 bands — and their elected representatives— approved. Unelected, heredity chiefs, are opposed.This is an internal indigenous issue that’s being exploited and blown up into a crisis by woke environmentalists using indigenous unrest to their advantage. In turn, playing the Indian angle gives the issue the sheen of social justice and sucks in the usual suspects.
Yes, many indigenous leaders are pragmatic and support resource development. But make no mistake - in this protest, they are being played.
Some indigenous people I know are posting the FB frame ”Stand with the Wet’suwet’en” as if Canadians we standing against them. This is completely false - it’s not Canadians against their indigenous neighbours.
It is:
—US environmentalists against Canadian energy
—Elected band councils against heredity chiefs
—Anarchy against rule of law
Yes, the Left is running amok worldwide, especially among wealthy American liberals who have realized that the US Constitution protects the rights of Americans from being taken by them. So they are using all their resources and every method they can to dispose of it. They will remain untouched by a corrupt Leftist government anywhere and will be free to roll over everyone.
