However, people who feel over-whelmed, threatened or challenged for their beliefs will revert to faith for answers and solace. Look at the incredibly strong faith the Jews have adopted during and since the Nazi atrocities. Perhaps the invasion of Islamist illegals into Canada and the Liberal legalisation of pedophilia will bring about a rebound of Christian religions. The newer joyful religions are enjoying more adherents than are the old "Give-the-sinners-shit" sermonizers of old.

I myself am not religious. I was raised to believe in god and prayed before bed every night but I only remember going to church with my parents maybe twice. I married a holiday Catholic so obviously our 3 children had to go to Catholic school. I always wanted to let our kids decide on their own when they were older. All 3 were baptized and confirmed and my oldest now 23 has since denounced it all and considers himself an atheist. My 2 daughters are holiday Catholics. I understand the benefits of organized religion. The structure, the idea of controlling behavior when an individual believes that someone is always watching. The community aspect of togetherness and not letting anyone feeling alone. I get it, I understand the benefits of it and those benefits far outweigh the negatives. There are always outliers in life. Nothing is ever totally good or bad but in the case of Judeo Christian values, they are what is missing from society today. Their are obviously some things that a lot of people can't be trusted to do in their own.

There is not one mention of Christianity or god in the US constitution, it seems the founding fathers were more enlightened than the current crop of "leaders"
