I know most folks feel confident there are enough republicans in the next stage to shut this down if this is passed on, but if it is I personally do not have enough faith in the GOP to think it's members will not betray their voting base. Tehy have been working betrayals against their base for a long time, they only keep getting elected because they have created so much fear among their supporters of voting for anything other than republicans they stay in power to work hand in hand with democrats to sell us out.

I’m a pessimist, these days. The system has been fundamentally broken by the faction that never wanted it to work in the first place unless it could be manipulated to achieve their ends. If the Republicans turn tail and run, it will only hasten the inevitable.
The energies Trump set loose are larger than he is and they will not go back in the bottle if he leaves the scene. I don’t have a clue what tomorrow may bring, but it sure won’t look like yesterday.
