I see "hate speech" not as a definable term but a place marker for a future paradigm of a powerful position.
A) Put the term out there.
B) Assign to it ," I know it when I see it."
C) Take control of the position to use it.
D) Use it against your enemies.

At this point, the objective is not to define it too specifically. Once it's on the books, a new police force in the form of editors, writers, professors and most of all, tech companies... have a tool/weapon to maintain positions, abdicate responsibility, get funding. Free from the responsibility of thinking, safe from being fired and unaccountable to anyone above or below them.
The paradigm also creates a maze to be navigated in order to get to the position of censor. The person who navigates the maze successfully, is precisely the person who shouldn't be there.
Ask anyone with sense to imagine the pathology of someone who would WANT to be a censor?

Secular blasphemy.

The idea of Hate Speach only exists in the little minds of those who do not understand the importance or the concept of Free Speech or used as a tool by dangerous Authoritariann groups who want control a free soceity of free thinking people.

I believe in the freedom to form and expess ideas no matter what. It is impossible to be free and fully human without the freedom of speech and freedom expression.

Hate speech is a meaningless, subjective designation. It can't/won't ever be enforced without bias. The only practical use is censorship. I don't recognize it as legitimate. I'm going to stick with the Constitution on this one.

I think feeling entitled to talk to or about someone how ever you want with no disregard for their perspective is as close a definition as I could get.

These people are obviously ignorant, and perpetuating the problem they see in other people by having no disregard for the problem at large. I don't nesasarly agree with who is or isn't getting banned and why, I don't know much about it but I can say that it would concern me in terms social implications. I wouldn't meet ignorance with more ignorance as these kids seem to be comfortable with doing.

I imagian hate speech is a lot like asking someone what art is. Everyone will have an opinion they feel entitled to, but few people take multiple perspectives into acount and make a rational decision.
