Cst.Tania Visintin of the VPD admitted as much today after an elderly blind man was attacked in a broad daylight in a downtown crosswalk.
“These are all issues that affect these types of calls but it’s not something that can be solved by going to jail or being arrested. There’s a broader issue here”, she said.
Really? Shouldn’t the number one issue be the safety of innocent residents? Apparently, not. Two of the basic functions of the Justice system, deterrence and protection of the public, are outmoded practices of another era.

Yep - 28 random street attacks per week, or over 120 per month. Sadly, the city is so progressive a strong response from the police, whose hands are tied, or the courts is off the table. The woke overloads are demanding more free housing and “mental health” support, which makes no sense since they also demand help for the mentally ill must be on a voluntary basis only. Of course the people who need meds don't want to take meds.
