There is an example that illustrates some of the complexity. You could think of pussy hats as a kind of porn because a lot of female sexual gratification comes from exhibitionism. It illustrates how porn gives those that are less attractive a sexual outlet. Unattractive women do not get as much satisfaction from exhibitionism as attractive women. The question again is if porn increases or decreases cooperation. Pussy hats certainly increased cooperation between women but to what end.

Intersexual conflict to prevent runaway dimorpism is unquestionably a good thing. One of the question that is raises is if selecting for neotony in females is a good thing. You could make a pretty strong argument that female selection has more strongly encourage neotony than it has in males. Early maturation and lose of some physical characteristics being examples. It's a case of precivilized trends being accelerated. Youthful looking, thin, women who are non aggressive get the best males meaning their offspring get the most resources. The trend is of course overcome by other factors such as the tendency of people to mate with people of similar intelligence and social status. It's also overcome by the unnatural conditions that reduce selection in the poor. The effect of luxus also means the most successful people also are having less children.

Overall the trend away from traditional morality and towards naturalism is probably a negative in terms of civilizational competition. In a traditional religious society the healthy and more successful tended to have more surviving children. In this regard equity, diversity and inclusion are dystopian biologically. Forget the race issue, it's irrelevant for the most part because eliminating racism and sexism will not address more fundamental problems. I don't want to hear about Margaret Higgins Sanger or the Nazis. I'm not a eugenicist. I'm just pointing out what was obvious to anyone with a brain a few generations ago.

Naturalism and by extension to the degree that determinism supports it are a problem. To illustrate this point consider a hypothetical story. A man is a habitual gambler and it gets him in trouble with the law. The defense that is mounted focuses on his addiction that stems from a brain disorder. During the sentencing phase of the trial the defense brings in a neurosurgeon that testifies they have a device that they can implant in his brain that will cure his addition. The judge agrees to release him under the supervision of the neurosurgeon. So he has the operation and the neurosurgeon tells him that he will be under constant observation. The implant being part of an experiment and more or less a placebo. The man leaves thinking that the neurosurgeon will intervene if he goes back to his old habits. Of course he does and is in trouble again. The man while awaiting his punishment asks the neurosurgeon why did you not stop me. To which the neurosurgeon replies I just told you that you would be under constant supervision to make you feel better.

The question is if porn addiction being socially acceptable is like the neurosurgeon saying you are under constant supervision. It's kind of a white lie that porn is harmless. It may be from the point of view perhaps of the individual but the individual does not exist in a vacuum.

I actually have a similar opinion about alcohol and marijuana use. I have no desire to see them be illegal but like porn they can be addictive and even in relatively reasonable amounts may do more harm than good. Fifth Precept of a practicing Buddhist: Do not take intoxicants. I think it would be reasonable to restate it as do not become intoxicated. In any case Buddhists are not prohibited from drinking only discouraged in practice.

Nothing can replace intimacy with another and hopefully it isn't lost forever.
