My wife and I lived there from 2009 to 2012 then moved back to Oregon. I told family that was likely my farewell tour of Texas. I lost the ability to handle the weather well, and there are a whole lot of ghosts, figuratively speaking, for me to be comfortable back home for very long. But if this gets traction I will certainly look to going home. SHould the Republic be revived I most definitley want to be there.

I miss certain things too. Wasp and fire ants and rattle snakes are not on that list LOL But.. Temex...The country kitchen i Summerville...(Best steak ever) . Spicy burning hot Salsa from la Perla in Belton... Jumping from and AC to another. LOL Great auctions in little towns where you would find treasures and great BBQ.. And a bunch of other little specific things that only Texas has.
@RemiDallaire Stanton, Texas would have this big Trade Show every spring. It was a town wide kind of thing where locals would bring out what ever they had to sale, and folks could rent spaces in parks to set up booths. It would run for a whole weekend. I went once years ago. Sure regretted not taking my wife over before we left Texas. It was a lot of fun and you could find almost everything.
