Seems that there was a spate of contrived attempts by anti-maskers in Victoria to create as many incidents as possible... set up, after set up...

A Victorian woman allegedly assaulted two police officers, injuring their hands and arms, when they stopped her for not wearing a facemask.
The 25-year old from Geelong was out in the town's Yarra Street at 3.30pm yesterday when she was approached by police.

She allegedly refused to give her details when asked, and when officers tried to arrest her she became aggressive and assaulted them.
She faces multiple charges and was also fined $200.

The St Kilda woman was taken to a police station to confirm her identity. She has since been charged with resisting and assaulting police.
However, she did not receive a fine for failing to wear a face covering because she later told police she had an exemption.
She was bailed to appear at court at a later date.
The arrest has been referred to the Professional Standards Command for oversight.

"Police made the decision to arrest the woman after she failed to provide her name and address," a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
"She also did not state she had an exemption for not wearing a face covering. "She then became physically aggressive and kicked a female officer to the upper body.
"The woman continued to resist arrest and had to be taken to ground before being arrested."

Police say a woman involved in a confronting arrest for not wearing a mask in Melbourne assaulted officers after defying a request to provide identification.

As I stated earlier... set up...

A growing group of anti-maskers have been "baiting" and antagonising Victorian police, and in one instance smashed the head of a female officer into concrete until she was concussed, authorities say.

Police said two female police officers approached a 38-year-old woman, who was not wearing a face covering, in the Frankston area on Monday night.

After questioning the woman about why she was not wearing one, police allege she pushed one officer and struck the other in the head.

"After a confrontation and being assaulted by that woman, those police officers went to ground and there was a scuffle," Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton said.

"During that scuffle, this 38-year-old woman smashed the head of the [26-year-old] policewoman several times into a concrete area on the ground."

Police said the constable was taken to Frankston Hospital with "significant head injuries".

The woman's alleged assault left the young police officer with a concussion and a missing clump of hair, Police Association of Victoria secretary Wayne Gatt said.

"The offender had a clump of our member's hair in her hands and said to our member 'what's it like to have your hair in my hands' or words to that effect," he said.

"That's just horrible conduct — it's not human-like to be quite honest."

Police have charged the alleged attacker with nine offences, including two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and one count of recklessly causing injury.

She had no previous criminal history and was granted bail to appear before the Frankston Magistrates' Court on March 31, 2021.

Details of the alleged attack were revealed as Victoria announced there would be more police and Army resources and new fines targeting people who did not self-isolate when directed.

A new $4,659 on-the-spot fine will apply for people who breach self-isolation orders, but "particularly selfish behaviour" and repeated breaches can now attract a $20,000 penalty, Premier Daniel Andrews said.

An additional 250 police officers will also join the roughly 1,500 personnel who are already working on enforcing restrictions around Victoria.

And now we know... The rest of the 'real' story. Thanks for that info! Context is always good in creating a news story. But, sadly they leave it out. We no longer have news, we have Drama and Snippets used to create emotional reactions.

$20,000 dollars for "particularly selfish behaviour"? How vague and draconian can you get!

I would be more apt to believe these verbal reports if they were backed up with each officer’s video footage.

Do you have any links to these reports?

@WorldSigh lol.... they are excerpts from actual news articles...
BTW our police don't wear cameras and not everyone films all aspects of their lives... you got the original here due to the idiots setting up police.

@Lightman
In his video, Avi said that most police are now wearing body cams. He said that, he is waiting for the body cam video footage to be released. (did you watch the video?)

"At July (2019) there were 5,217 body-worn cameras being used by NSW police to record incidents, crime scenes and interactions with the public."
[theguardian.com]

No offence, but without links to back up your "quotes", I have no way of knowing they are legitimate.

@WorldSigh Then google them
BTW not all police in every state or territory in Australia wear cameras... sorry but that is a fact. None in NSW where I live do.
Oh and police have specific rules for using cameras for those issued with them and the NSW Police Force has 20,667 employees: 16,649 police officers and 4,018 civilian staff.
Stop wasting my time... I don't tell lies.

@Lightman
My statements and quotes are all backed up by links to actual sources!
I told zero lies.

On the other hand, you did lie! Here are your own words:
"BTW our police don't wear cameras"!
The article I linked to clearly states that as of July 2019, 5217 of them do wear body cams! The number has likely increased since over a year has passed.

You expanded on your lie in your next post. Again, here are your own words:
"BTW not all police in every state or territory in Australia wear cameras... sorry but that is a fact.
None in NSW where I live do."

Ironically you were replying to my last post in which I included a substantiating link:

"At July (2019) there were 5,217 body-worn cameras being used by NSW police to record incidents, crime scenes and interactions with the public."

[theguardian.com]?

Do you bother reading posts, or watching linked videos and articles?
You have had some interesting things to say on other topics; however, this subject appears to have taken away your capacity for cogent discourse. Since, you have brought this otherwise, civil discussion down to the level of ad hominem, I have nothing more to say to you on the subject.
In the future I would appreciate it if you would provide some sort of back up for your claims.
Especially, when you are offering opposition to a previous post. Thank you.

@WorldSigh none of what I wrote was a lie... sigh... end of conversation... btw our police do not wear cameras as I stated... it is not mandatory, some do depending on their duty and it is not compulsory for them to have even those few active at all times... in fact the public can ask for them to be turned off if an officer activates one. We are not the US or a police state. And I never called you a liar unlike what you keep saying bout me.
Btw cameras are only just now being rolled out to Australian polices forces, again backing up my previous claim... I have never seen a camera on a police man ever...
Cameras re not worn in the ACT, WA , SA, TAS, decisions on rolling out the Cameras for those states are being decided, the other states re in the process of rolling out cameras to officers for some aspects of their jobs and protocols being established for the use thereof... ta daaaa... so there you go... have you googled those articles I quoted... no... you don't want to her the truth.

@WorldSigh oh almost forgot standard issue equipment for nsw police.
Equipment and holsters
In addition to the standard issue firearm, officers are issued with Saflock (mark IV & V) handcuffs, OC (capsicum spray), expandable baton, Motorola XTS3000/XTS5000/XTS2500 (Digital UHF) or Tait Orca (VHF) portable radio, and a first-aid kit. Members have access to a fixed baton and Maglite rechargeable torch, which are usually located in all first response police vehicles for each officer "on the truck". There is also access to high ballistic rated overt body armour in every vehicle as required. Specialist tactical officers from elite units such as the State Protection Group and riot officers from the Public Order and Riot Squad have access to a variety of specialised weapons and equipment.

The NSW Police Force has issued TASER electronic control devices (ECDs) which generally are carried by one officer on every first response general duties vehicle. TASER is also issued to some specialist squads (e.g. Public Order and Riot Squad, Tactical Operations Unit and State Protection Support Units).

Each Taser X26P issued to police includes an integrated camera to record all deployments of the device as well as any additional video while the device's safety is switched off. The grip used by police may result in no video footage being available; however, audio footage is still "loud and clear". This is due, for safety reasons, to the grip being the same as that used to hold the glock pistol.

@WorldSigh oh and because you re too lazy to look...
[abc.net.au]
Don't lie bout other people, what they say and what they provide as proof.

@Lightman

I have already exposed your false statements by reposting them.
Now, you have posted more lengthy unsubstantiated claims about police issued equipment that do nothing to refute the links and pictures I posted. Of course, Avi Yemini also states clearly in the OP video that many police do in fact wear body cams. Incidentally, Avi lives in, and was reporting from, Melbourne...

Thank you for the single MSM link, and for the lovely ad hominem final post: "... too lazy to look"; "... lie bout other people". Considering the number of linked articles, video, and pictures I have researched and posted in support of my statements, "lazy" is obviously a false characterization. Also, you have failed to show evidence of a single "lie bout other people" that I have supposedly told.

By any chance, are you a fan of Karl Marx or Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals?
“Accuse Your Enemy Of What You Are Doing, As You Are Doing It To Create Confusion”!

I don’t know if you are deliberately obtuse, or simply have a blind spot concerning the topic of unilaterally imposed, arbitrary, Orwellian mask laws? In either case, since you refuse to respond reasonably to the evidence provided, there is nothing left to say.

I have no desire to attack your character. In person, you are probably a nice guy. Sadly, some people tend to become intransigent online. I will not continue this conversation, at least not with you. Good bye.

The bystander said she was arrested for not wearing a mask. How does he know?

The bystander was part of the plot.
She was not charged with not wearing a mask she was charged with assault etc... how do I know... I live here.

@Lightman I saw her trying to kick the one police officer. My guess was she was caught doing something and tried to escape.

@maxmaccc Ah she didn't try... she fought with one and kicked the other in the chest knocking her backwards.
She was as I have shown part from excerpts of articles, of an anti-masker action taken on a weekend to provoke police. Some anti-maskers here simply don't want to believe that.

Didn't see how it started?

Who said the New World Order is pretty ... wear your mask or expect the wrath to come down upon you.

very sad it has come to this

She broke the health rules and disobeyed the police... whose job it was to ensure rules were obeyed. She was violent, disrespectful and aggressive.

As Avi said, we do not know the context. We will wait and see what the body cam of the cop shows happened before he grabbed this tiny woman by the throat. Perhaps, he was justified, perhaps not...

@WorldSigh I think you'll find she has a scarf round her throat too. I know if she complied to police direction nothing would have happened.

@Lightman
Just do as you’re told? Be a good sheeple? Next stop, 1984! Good plan!
The point is that she should never have been put in a situation where she felt threatened and obviously terrified of those who are supposed to be protecting her. The police should not be physically attacking people who do not wear masks. There comes a point when the "I was just following orders" bs is not a justification for a police state!

@WorldSigh She broke the health rules, disobeyed and assaulted the law and from what I heard yesterday refused to wear a mask in a store, which started this whole thing. She is an idiot.
It looks more and more like a set up.

@Lightman Do you have links with more info?
